The Ratbirds are going to the Super Bowl(according to Earl Thomas)

Not going to go and say the Ravens suck. They are emerging as a contender.

However I like the Pats chances without a 3rd string LT which they made mince meat out of.

Also like BB having good film to break down.

They may get to or win the superbowl. However if they think the Pats are just going to not show up, I think they are gravely mistaken.

The 2016 Patriots are also pretty close when thinking about teams with “unstoppable” offenses that cruised through the postseason. 34-36-34 in the postseason, but the first 42 minutes of the Super Bowl certainly reminded us that no team is really unstoppable. The 2017 Eagles are probably a consideration, too, except they were playing with Foles so few expected them to maintain dominance offensively. But neither team just blew the top off like the pre-salary cap NFC teams of the 80s and 90s.

Other Patriots teams that had “unstoppable” offenses are some point in the season, where you really couldn’t imagine how they could lose barring injury, are 2007, 2010, and 2015. 2015 saw a ton of injuries. 2007 and 2010 just face planted. People forget just how talented that 2010 offense was led by Brady as the only unanimous MVP winner.

If you don’t improve after thanksgiving you don’t go to a SB. If you believe you gave already made the SB before thanksgiving your chances of improving would seem to be hurt.

Pride goeth before the fall

There’s still 5 weeks of regular season play left. A lot can happen. All it takes is one team to completely befuddle the Ravens offense.

Such bravado
It’s not as if Baltimore dropped 38 on NE

Says the team of braggart Ratbirds.

You have a strangely directed argument.

What did Thomas guarantee? Does he guarantee his paycheck or is it a "told you so". Guarantees went out after Namath made one against the Colts. Since then, it's all downhill win or lose. A guarantee is only good if you back it up with collateral.

I am a bit surprised he did not say they would win the super bowl.

This is a complete side tangent but I do find it to be an interesting side tangent.

In football I think there are a lot of references to 'going to the Super Bowl' instead of "win the SUper Bowl" because even just going there is an event in itself. The whole week is outside the norm. You fly to a neutral location and get inhibited by the city that is full of fans that are doing nothing more than partying and preparing for the big game. Then there is the media day and all that. The whole week is an incredible experience that players want. Sure, they want to win, but there's a HUGE difference in football between losing in the Super Bowl as opposed to losing in the conference championships.

For the other sports leagues, the finals feel more like just a 'continuation of the other rounds' and not much different other than the added pressure of knowing how close to the end you are.

Might not matter but they seem awfully obsessed with MVP and making the Super Bowl before they’ve even gotten there. Buying into a lot of their own hype (not including Lamar, he is very humble).

2010 was just sad the season ended the way it did to THAT team. Awful time for a stinker.

The Browns (who lost to the Patriots) also incinerated the Ravens in every aspect of the game. Any given Sunday.

The Ravens will be one-and-done in the playoffs. I'll bump this post in January.

The 2012 D has nothing to do with the 2019 D.

He was OC in BUF in 2015-2016. That worked out well...for us.
He's talking about the QB types and game plans in 2012/2019.

He had Tylor Taylor at QB in 2015-2016, hardly Kaep or Lamar type.

That’s not the most outrageous idea. There’s still a lot of time to go for teams to figure out how to stop the run. I am convinced that if this team can’t move the ball on the ground that they have no chance of beating you throwing it.
