Roberts started and he did well. He was pulled the same time as Butler which tells me A LOT about where he stands..
Roberts continued to play 2 series' after Butler and left with a hand injury.

Learn the ropes without being able to practise? That does not sound like the best solution to make someone better.
I'm talking the mental aspect.

Roberts got all the reps for the same reason Boyce and White did. Not because they may start....but to force feed them and see what they can do IMO

Thankfully, he trended in the opposite direction of Boyce with the reps he received. He has a very legit chance of making this team AND contributing. If he makes the 53 he won't be a healthy scratch either, the DL/RB depth will be taking up the majority of the bench along with OL#9.

The team has room for a couple of developmental players that don't play much. The 9th OL could be such a player. Grissom could be another. If necessary, Roberts could be another.

IMHO, the important point is that Roberts will be on the team all year, and be given time to develop.

What if by the end of the year Harmon managed to start at CB just due to a lack of viable options and lack of opportunity for him to play at S? It doesn't mean too much that he's getting a few CB reps in camp, but he did say he was willing to do it. Just another devil's advocate thought...

Instead of pretending like what walked out there will be anything remotely close to the 1st team offense we'll see at the start of the season, let's be honest. The offense was without ALL of their Starting O-line, their Top RB, their Top 2 TE, and their top 2 wide receivers and you think it's ordinary based on yesterday's game? *rolls eyes*

Sorry, but you seem to be over-reacting A LOT.

No. Even last year it took an extraordinary effort by the GOAT to make that Offense go. If/when he becomes only ordinary or someone ordinary replaces him the Offense will be very ordinary too. How many Probowl types exist on the Offense? Brady, Gronk, Edelman and perhaps Vollmer. That is thin compared to the dozen or so on Defense.

I'm starting to wonder if Brown will even make the team. He walked off the field again today with the trainers during practice.
