Object of his effection? Maybe we should hold spelling classes so when outsiders come and check us out we don't sound like goober illiterates:

-Ignorant of the fundamentals of a given art or branch of knowledge: musically illiterate.

Surely you meant to say affection: A tender feeling toward another; fondness. See Synonyms at love.

-A disposition to feel, do, or say; a propensity.
Obsolete. Prejudice; partiality.
