It would have been cheap, easy, and logical to check every single ball last season and to log all stats.

But it was NEVER about that. Screw the website, Kraft. Demand the numbers.

Just another fact that completely enrages me... before the season started, they talked about how they were going to gather data on PSI of footballs during RANDOM GAMES.. even throughout the season, in September, October, November.. they said that they'll be collecting that data, and Goodell kept saying they aren't yet sure what they were going to do with the data, etc...

then the winter comes, season ends.. they have all this data they collected.. they go hush for like 2 months.. then come out and are like, "Oh what PSI data? We never said we were checking PSI of footballs, just wanted to make sure the procedure is followed.. nothing to see here"

Its beyond insulting.. just makes me cringe thinking about it because of how blatantly full of **** that front office

The cherry on that frustrating **** sundae is the reports that came out of Minnesota before and during the Vikings/Seahawks playoff game like this




So the nfl was worried about PSI levels dropping because of how cold it was in Minnesota yet their whole case against Brady and the Pats was based on how weather doesn't effect PSI in footballs.

There is seriously no explanation other than the league is trying to hide the fact that they ****ed up from the start and the results from the last year prove that.

Over the 8 decades of the league's existence, they never once showed any interest about the PSI of the footballs during a game, until one evening in January 2015. After that, they went right back to not caring. Except that's not the way they framed things leading up to the 2015 regular season. Not only did they enact new protocols for the footballs before and during the game, but they distributed new gauges to each team for this purpose. For the league to now say that the PSI was never important is dishonest and insulting to everyone's* intelligence.




*Everyone who was able to figure out that this thing was a sham, anyway.

Before the season started, the official NFL statement was:

“At designated games, selected at random, the game balls used in the first half will be collected by the [kicking ball coordinator] at halftime, and the League’s Security Representative will escort the KBC with the footballs to the Officials’ Locker room. During halftime, each game ball for both teams will be inspected in the locker room by designated members of the officiating and security crews, and the PSI results will be measured and recorded. Once measured, those game balls will then be secured and removed from play.”

And now after the season, the NFL’s executive vice president says:

“We focus on procedure, balls being brought to the stadium. There was no violation of game balls being checked in at the appropriate time. There was no violation of game balls being in the officials locker room, being brought to the field, back to the locker rooms at halftime, and then the balls being brought back to the locker room post game. So it’s the procedure of the balls themselves.”

They are the Untouchable NFL. They can lie right to everyone's faces and no one can do a damn thing about it
