I dont understand the comments left on PFT after the article from some of these people, then I come back here to scroll down and read some opinions of people on this board and it's just as bad.
Bad mouthing Rodney for what he said? What did he say that was so terrible? He said it like it is. Man, people are so hard to please. No one's ever happy with the Borges's and Tomase's of the world, bad mouthing them every chance they get. Those guys are trashy journalists, I understand that. But, here comes a guy like Rodney, who played his ass off and gave many of us years of entertainment, comes out, tells it like it is, and people are upset?
Again, just to make sure we are clear, Im talking about the PFT board as well. Richard was an all-pro for this team, he gets traded, and now it seems that people are ready to hang the man out to dry. "He's fat!" "He's lazy!" "He never bought into the Patriot way!" "He faked injuries!" On and on, and it just keeps getting worse.
Can we all please just stop, look at the big picture, and stop trying to spin it either way to make our cases more legit, and make ourselves feel better? This is a joke. Every time that man was on the field (Seymour) making plays, setting the edge, keeping his mouth shut and just doing his job, no one ever said "Get that fat, pansy ass malcontent off the field and off this team!" Instead, we all cheered him on.
Is it a smart deal for our beloved Pats? Of course it is, is it a good deal for the Raiders? OF COURSE IT IS! Is it a good deal for Richard? Hell no. Just becuz he is unhappy about it, let's not bad mouth the guy or let anyone else bad mouth him either. He played hard for this team (regardless of what speculators and self righteous guys like Hobbs have to say.) Let's just take it for what it is. If BB could pay the guy whatever he wanted and keep him on this team with no cap or player limit, I guarantee you he would.
I know this has been a very long post, and I apologize, and if you've read all the way through it, then thank you very much for your time. Id also like to just end by telling anyone who is trying to emasculate Richard Seymour... over the internet you may sound like a tough guy, but in person, that Man would kick your ass.
