The Pats have moved on and they had almost nobody of mention except Mcourty and Butler on the roster. when Browner walked. The Seahawks have also moved on. 2 of the best top teams in the league passed on keeping him around.
Browner is a liability with his incessant holding and PI calls. Browner is what he is and the whole NFL knows it.
They both let him walk for the same reason. Salary cap issues and the fact that he wasn't worth his current contract or his new asking price. At a vet minimum, that completely changes. Are you going to try to tell me that a team would let a starting corner for a SB winning season go if he was willing to sign at the lowest price you can have a player for? Yeah, good luck trying to sell that one. I don't think he's a pro bowl corner anymore or anything, but I think he's worth 40k a game. Like I said, he's perfect for covering TE's & Tall WR's in red zone situations where he can't get burned over the top, and getting very very physical with larger WR early in games so he can wear them out. Even if that comes at the price of a 10-15 yard PI call.
