good article, he's still an a-hole.
Not a lot of people realize that schedule back then in 72 was a cupcake - two slightly better than average teams at 8-6 as opponents. For the Patriots this year, hopefully Pittsburgh cools off a little in October before they come to NE.
I swear I read this artical some where else. I never relized how easy the fins schedual was that year?
Here's the text of the article so we won't run up the hits on the a-hole's web page:
Good point about the Pats having the "best Front Four" even if they don't use the guys much in that formation.
Nothing new otherwise, and only a couple of mildly clever turns of phrase.
Still, its nice to read ol' Wrong to write something complimentary about the Pats. Hell, he was actually gushing about the team!
Dude could always write pretty well. I always thought his boxing coverage was pretty good, mostly because his cynical style matched that corrupt institution so well.
He just had a real problem with his own personal agendas for friends of his (Charley Armey is great! Drew Bledsoe is super-great!), and a wicked case of BDS (Belichick Derangement Syndrome) that pushed him over the edge. And he sure seems like an ornery SOB, too.
reading that makes me think....i dont care if there are 2 extra games on the schedule. If those guys could do it than Brady and this team can do it too.
Just wait: if anything goes wrong, Borges will write how the Pats failed to compare to the great Dolphins of 1972.
