I have mixed feelings on this. On one hand I'm happy for Bledsoe, but on the other hand would have much preferred to have seen Houston Antwine get in.
With the current setup of membership being decided by fan voting, there is no way that a player from a previous generation is ever going to get in over a recently retired player. Besides being more fresh in people's memories, Bledsoe (and Parcells) did far more print and radio interviews with local media during the voting time period. Bledsoe had a larger percentage of the vote than any other player in the Patriots Hall of Fame.
While I commend the Patriots for having their fans involved in the process, perhaps Robert Kraft should consider changing how a person becomes a member of the Pats Hall of Fame; otherwise it's going to be somebody in the first or second year of eligibility every single time.
