    Drew Bledsoe makes pats HOF!

Congrats Drew Bledsoe! A great Patriot. For those who say he didn't win a superbowl for us, re-watch the 2001 AFC championship game. Without Bledsoe the Patriots do not win that superbowl.

I have mixed feelings on this. On one hand I'm happy for Bledsoe, but on the other hand would have much preferred to have seen Houston Antwine get in.

With the current setup of membership being decided by fan voting, there is no way that a player from a previous generation is ever going to get in over a recently retired player. Besides being more fresh in people's memories, Bledsoe (and Parcells) did far more print and radio interviews with local media during the voting time period. Bledsoe had a larger percentage of the vote than any other player in the Patriots Hall of Fame.

While I commend the Patriots for having their fans involved in the process, perhaps Robert Kraft should consider changing how a person becomes a member of the Pats Hall of Fame; otherwise it's going to be somebody in the first or second year of eligibility every single time.

Drew deserved the honor. Too bad Antwine couldn't get in too. Glad to see that The Tuner did not make it.

They need to make some type of provision for the veterans as well, Antwine deserved it also..

Certainly Drew deserves it and I'd like to make it down for the ceremony.

But I agree that the older Patriots are at a disavantage when it comes to fan voting. Perhaps Bob Kraft should just name one pre-1975 player, who really desrves it, to the Hall every other year. It's his Hall and he can do what he wants.

I am aware of that, and that is definitely better than nothing. But the veteran's committee only puts in one player every five years, while fan voting puts a player in every year. With the current setup players that are freshest in peoples minds will be voted in every time - which means nobody that played prior to 2000 will ever get in with the exception of two every ten years via the veteran's committee.

    Good for Drew.

He will always suffer for having been replaced by an all time great and for never being good enough to have lead the Pats to a Lombardi by himself.

But drew was pretty damned good and helped the Pats go from doormat to contender.

I will always be grateful for that.

Yeah, he didn't win a SB for us, he didn't even play in that SB. He was 10-21 for 102 yards and threw 1 TD after being spotted the ball on Pitt's 40 yard line in the 2nd quarter of the AFCCG. Special teams accounted for 17 of the Patriots 24 points. I don't understand the need for exaggeration whenever Bledsoe is involved.

Couldn't be happier for Drew Bledsoe.
Drew was a warrior on the field, a class act off the field and one of the very real building blocks of this Patriot dynasty. Congrats to Drew for this long overdue embrace from Patriot nation.

I thought he would get selected, and am happy with it!

Congratulations Drew! If it wasn't for Drew, TFB wouldn't be our QB ;) (and Mo Lewis of course!)

Congratulations to Drew. Well, deserved. The guy was the second best QB of this franchise's history. He brought this team to a Super Bowl. He played a key role in ressurrecting this team from the ashes of the Sullivans/Victor Kiam/Zeke Mowatt/Rod Rust/Dick MacPherson era and turn this team from a punchline in sports media to a a respectable organization.

Yes, Houston Antwine was well deserving, but I think Bledsoe means a whole heck of a lot to this team not only to what he did on the field, but how he helped to change the fans' and nations perspective on the Patriots. Like Joe Namath with the NFL's HOF, his entrance in to the Hall goes beyond what he did on the field. For anyone else who sat in the stadium with 13,000 other people in the late 80's/early 90's know what I am talking about.

Maybe the veterans committee should vote more often then again these guys have had decades where they could of been honored and sure some are deserving but how many snubs are there and might 2 every ten years be enough.

I will give you that maybe some of these guys could be more worthy than Drew (not my opinion) but most of the guys going in in the next few years are the most worthy guys the CHAMPIONS....so everyone can wait until Troy, Teddy and company get in.

All three candidates were deserving but Drew got my vote.

Far too many fans refuse to recognize the role he played in revitalizing the team and fanbase at a time when St. Louis Stallion jerseys were ready to be sold to fans.

Far too few fans appreciate just what a tough QB he was and how fortunate we've been to have a franchise QB leading this organization for nearly 20 years.

    A well deserved honor.

I'm happy for Drew. He really deserves it. I don't think people realize just how physically tough he was over the years. I also thought Houston would get in as well. I know he will, either by coming up again in the yearly voting or through the veteran's committee. I'm also happy that Parcell's DIDN'T get in. It was a nice gesture, but that was all he deserves is the gesture. I sincerely hope he never gets another opportunity.
