Solid move by the Packers in my opinion bringing back Matt Flynn a QB who knows their system and has had success in it previously, outside of the Patriots the Packers are the best managed franchise in the NFL if you ask me.

I harbor a suspicion that Flynn and Ross Ventrone go way back.

The guy for whatever reason whether it be poor luck or lack of talent just never seems to get the opportunity to start. He went to Seattle and the decided to go with Russell Wilson, then he went to Oakland and they decided to go with Pryor and he spent a few weeks in Buffalo when Manuel was out.

From a performance perspective he has been pretty good – 109/175, 62.3% completions, 1329 passing yards, 7.59 average, 10 touchdowns and a 90.4 QB rating.

Its a necessary move. They are down to one healthy QB.

Did GB trade Flynn or did he leave in FA? If they traded him what a win that is, he's a great backup for them.

Glad the Giants likely won't be handed a free W this Sunday too. Hope Flynn's not too rusty.

Flynn signed with the Seahawks as a FA then he lost his job to Russell Wilson.

As a Packer he had a couple of great games against the Pats and then the Lions, 6 TD and almost 500 yards passing... those probably helped get him the big contract from SEA.

Guess who's back, back again... this was obvious the second Rodgers went down.

Compare and contrast Flynn and Hoyer. Flynn has been getting opportunity after opportunity and cashed in. Hoyer on the other hand has been so unfortunate.

Actually I think both were and still are in the unfortunate category. Flynn has seemingly gone to optimal situations until the coaches decided to go with rookie / young QBs instead (Wilson in Seattle and Pryor in Oakland). Maybe this stint with the Packers will finally be his chance to shine for 2-3 weeks as an audition for next year. Hoyer already showed in his 2-3 games with the Browns that he's a player, but his injury couldn't have happened at a worst time. Maybe the Browns or another team will give him a shot as well next year as well.

The Packers are so lucky that Flynn is available. He's bumped from on place to another, never really getting much of a shot.

He's likely a ho-hum starter, but not bad considering the pinch they are in.

I thought the Packers weren't interested in him?
