Our issues... are they really issues?

if we didnt get so many turnovers, we would probably be 9-7 at best.

1.) BJGE is a guy who barely made the team 2 years ago, and now people are acting as if Jim Brown couldn't hold a candle to him. He's not an RB1.

Brady's a guy who barely got drafted in 2000...

I don't see how whether he barely made the team or not matters.
What about his season didn't show you he's a capable RB1?

2.) Taylor couldn't get on the field last season, which means that he's likely done. He needs to be replaced, and he's supposed to be one of two tandem backs taking the first and second down type of snaps.

3.) In a season where Maroney was shipped off and Faulk and Taylor were both lost early, Morris had only 20 carries. If he's not done as a ball carrier, he can sure see "done" from where he's standing.

The team needs an RB, preferably an RB1 to put BJGE at the RB2 spot and allow Woodhead to serve as the C.O.P./3rd down RB. That would give them 3 RBs and allow them to decide from among either the current crop or a second outside RB for the 4th spot.

Who is acting like BJGE is the next coming of Jim Brown? Most people are happy with him as the RB1and Woodhead as the 3rd down back. That leaves RB2 and RB4 for the Pats to fill. Does BJGE need to continue to improve? Yes. And he's shown he can do that.

Most people figure that Taylor and Morris are gone. Most have suggested guys like Deangelo Williams and John Kuhn as replacements.

A lot of posters know that the success of the running game will be predicated on what happens with the O-line. You're synopsis is like many others have said. And without improving the O-line, there are issues. OT, RG, OC.

RB is a need.

The AFCC said it all watching Mendenhal gash the Jets

Last year we had: Moris, Faulk, Taylor, Woodhead, BGJE, Maroney

This year we have: BGJE and Woodhead on short term contracts

RB is a need because of depth and future years not because we need to upgrade BGJE or Woodhead.

All teams need everything all the time.

The reality is good value at RB can be had late 3rd/4th round in 2011. based on the combine. this draft looks silently deep at RB.

In 2010, the two highest rushing rookies were UDFA's.

BJGE is a consistent and serviceable 1k back, but we have 2 slots to fill and we NEED to develop a RB that opponents fear and need to game plan putting 8 in the box. We can't allow teams to drop everyone into coverage and not fear getting hurt. Balance is key as Brady gets older.

There is good depth at DE, but I think we NEED one more DE that commands double teams.

OL is starting to get old and not much depth, we need to start addressing it with top tier talent before it catches up and bites us in the butt.

Building and upgrading the trenches is never a bad idea. I don't think we want to get into the situation like 2008-2009 where a mass of players get old together and suddenly realize we have to rebuild.

In the end. I agree, best player available rather reaching to plug a hole while bypassing a stud as a minor upgrade.
