be the TRAP prize for whoever gets him next year?

Seriously-for anyone who saw the Skins meltdown today, this is NO LONGER the "play not to lose" league anymore-and we all know that Cowher has THAT mentality.

He's hinted that he'll stay in the booth in 2008. Smart decision for him.

If anything, the job Tomlin is doing this year should remove some of the luster off Cowher's coaching prowess.

If he does return next year it will be to San Diego (If they continue to lose).I think he'd do very well in San Diego.

You mean he would help them go two-and-done in the playoffs instead of one-and-done?

I wouldn't be surprised to see him in DC.

Cowher would be nuts to not get back into coaching. He has name recognition, a ring, a history of success, and he's liked. He could demand 4/32M and probably get it.

If I owned a moribund franchise I'd hire him in a heartbeat. He could do for a franchise what Parcells did for NE. If I owned a team which was already good but couldn't get over the hump I wouldn't consider hiring him.

He may come to the Panthers. He lives in Raleigh which is a few hours away.

This will probably be Gibbs' last year in DC. Cowher can name his price and Danny Boy will pay.

Not sure about that. Right now Tomlin is Switzer-esque. He was handed a championship caliber team.

Let's see what he can do a few years down the road after some major personnel decisions.

I understand your point, too early to judge Tomlin's body of work... but to compare Tomlin to a 'tard like Switzer is just wrong. Tomlin may be a rook but he has impressed a lot with his performance-based, no-BS, even-keel management of the team (very Noll-like). Cowher went 8-8 last year with basically the same roster.

On second thought pulling a Switzer ain't so bad... means we'd get to hoist a trophy this year...
