It's not like Meyer's an old man, though he did allude to health issues. With the hours they put in and pressure they are under, it's a wonder that head coaches last as long as they do, whether it's at the college level or in the NFL.
Meyer and BB seem to be good friends so if or when Meyer does want to work again, BB would find a spot for him. If it is health issues, who knows; perhaps he would like to return to football some day, but without the pressure that comes with being a head coach.
Maybe he'll return as Pats' HC when BB decides to become New England's "Czar" of FB operations...
Ouch. .......He has a cyst on his brain that causes pain brought on by stress.
A month ago when rumors were circulating he might be headed to Notre Dame, he said he had no interest in coaching anywhere but Florida and intended to remain there as long as they would have him. After being hospitalized in early December that seems to have changed. Guys his age don't walk away over minor health issues. Apparently he has some cardiac concerns. That being the case, I wouldn't expect to see him here or anywhere next season.
Florida coach Urban Meyer resigns amid health concerns, will stay through Sugar Bowl
Everyone sees it from a mile away after the fact....I saw this one coming a mile away
