OT-Hypothetically speaking, do Pats win it all if they had drafted Bryant & Dunlop ?

Maybe we should get an additional TE (Coby Flenner) and run the ball more.

We should do both but the issues aren't related. We will run the ball when we can run block consistently and have a back who can consistently run it even when we don't. They won't be taking Gronk or Hernandez off the field for the 3rd TE very often because unless they hit on one in the draft he won't be nearly as good as either. Nor used more often than they used the 11th hour FB they added to the roster. Roster spots are valuable, so better to upgrade at RB than keep attempting workarounds that limit roster flexibility and depth in other areas. IMO.

Bingo. Until we have areal running game and it is part of the game plan this team will be SB losers.

We ran the ball in 2001, 2003 and 2004. Now it is just let Brady throw it. Its is not going to be any different with McDaniels.

Rules changes that opened up the passing game had as much to do with that as anything.
Thing is teams adapt and defenses are finding new ways to stop the passing game. That signals it's time to revert to some extent, but you have to have the personnel and the mindset to do it. I think Bill is grappling with that. He tends to be out in front of the cycles, but this time he's lagged a little and/or personnel just haven't panned out in a timely manner.

Hyopthetically speaking, the Patriots win it all if: Brady does not throw the Int, they recover 1 of the 2 fumbles, do not have 12 men on the field and the fumble recovery stands, or Welker makes the catch.

Then hypotheticlly speaking we wouldn't have these types of threads.

So teams shouldn't play good players because they might get hurt?

Perhaps he is alluding to the idea that we need another at least on the roster, we lost Yeatman and Smith this year, but if you are using a 2 TE base you need a 3rd TE on the roster.

BTW C JAckson failed due to low football IQ and an inability to play in this system, what make you think a more talented, but dumber player could succeed?

"2 is 1 and 1 is none"

The standard Navy Seal answer to "how many _____ should I carry"?

Hypothetically speaking, I dunno what Dunlap would have contributed to the pass rush that Ninkovich didn't. Also hypothetically speaking, if Gronk had been healthy we win it all. You could spend the next week with these hypotheticals, but the Giants have plenty of them too. Every team does.

The 2003 team didn't run nearly as much as you seem to think that it did.

BB is adapting by working on a hybrid D front and of course the 2 TE O.

Hypothetically speaking, probably not.

But we will never know, Dez Bryant may not have fit into the Patriots Culture and may have spent a lot of time in the doghouse.. Dunlap, not all that sure he would have made any difference.

Last thing we need is a diva WR..
