He was my favorite player from the AFL. That was when Tarington was throwing bombs to Homer Jones in the NFL and Al Davis was actually a great Football exec.

What he did in 1970 was unbelievable. In 5 consecutive weeks, he either tied or won a game at the end of regulation by either throwing TD passes or kicking field goals, in an era when kickers barely converted 50% of their kicks...Oh and was 42 or 43 years old at the time......
I was fortunate to be able to see him play, in person at the AFL games...
He was a breed of a different kind of player, that today's NFL players dont even come close to matching. He played for the love of the game.
