Re: Ot ...Bucks trade #4 overall pick to the Bears
Woods and Ninkovich have both played well when they've gotten regular snaps and on Special Teams.
Unfortunately for the Pats, they are only going to be able to add players who are street free agents (aka cut or waived) or add players in response to the ones they've lost. So, they are going to be stuck with this sort of LBing corps for at least another year... Which isn't a bad thing.
That is ridiculous, he may not be a pure OLB but either was Vrabel or McGinest. He is a player with high upside and is cheap. Great deal for the Bears. Fans tend to overrate draft picks, there were people whining when the Pats traded a 2nd for Welker. Look at the Pats 2nd rounders, Bethel Johnson, Chad Jackson, etc. the success rate is 50% that the player even becomes an average starter.
Salary info:
2009: $900,000, 2010: $1.08 million, 2011: $1.1 million, 2012: $1.15 million, 2013:
Gaines Adams
Look at the junk the Patriots have at OLB/DE:
Stack Adams up against that pile of junk and he may even be the cream of the crop. Putting the list down, actually typing it out really hurts. I doubt that there is a less talented group of OLB/DEs in the NFL. No wonder the pass rush stinks.
- TBC - JAG, free agent after this season
- Burgess - washed up hack, free agent after this season
- Green - JAG, pushing 30, free agent after this season
- Woods - not even good enough to be a JAG, free agent after this season (might be an RFA)
- Guyton - solid player, not proven at OLB
- Thomas - over 30, under achiever, salary of greater than 9.5M for the next two seasons
- Ninkovich - should be a grocery clerk some where
