Why? Are you happy to start drives consistently on the 15-18 yard line because the Pats have a below average kick returner? Are you excited about Welker returning punts if he returns?

Cribbs is a top 5 kick returner and a top 10 punt returner. He is a solid signing as long as he isn't getting tons of money.

well no ****, we aren't getting him for pennies though.

He will most likely get a contract for no more than $2-3 million a year (maybe significantly less) which is good, but not great money for a back up WR/special teams specialist. It isn't like he is going to get Lloyd money never mind Welker money.

It isn't like the Pats to pay huge money to a special teams specialist even one as good as Cribbs. They aren't getting him for pennies, but they aren't going to give him $10 plus million in guarantees either.
