Rookie Hernandez a tight fit - The Boston Globe

“He’s a smart kid. I think he loves football. I think he loves to practice. He practices hard,’’ Belichick said. “When we’ve had him simulate some of the other tight ends we’ve played, he does a great job of giving the defense a look and he loves the competition of it. I think he’s done some good things. He’s improved in a lot of areas. I think he still has a lot of upside.’’

But Belichick added the rookie has “a long way to go.’’

“I think he understands that and hopefully he can continue to work and get better in those areas,’’ Belichick said. “But I certainly think there’s a lot of progress over the course of the year.’’

He says alot of good things here. Especially like when he mentions the playoff mentality you can tell these guys are soaking up alge's wisdom.

He's going to be as good as tony gonzalez and is already better than antonio gates

There is a great piece on all the TE's on Patriots all Access, which you can watch at the Patriots.com site. You can really see how Gronk and Hernandez look up to Alge. Just watching their expressions while Crumpler is talking is worth seeing. These kids really get it. They have completely bought in. Its beautiful to see. Its a must see.
