Well they've already beaten Baltimore and Cincinnati. I hope it's Indy though, that would be great TV.

It will indeed be great tv. But I'll rather see the Ravens playing the Broncos in their 1st game instead of the Colts. Baltimore will put up a better fight IMO. I could be wrong. What if Indy some how upsets Denver? That would be one of the biggest playoff upsets in recent memory. I wouldn't bank on that. Here's my predictions in the AFC playoffs. Baltimore beats Indy,Houston barely escapes Cincy (I won't be shocked if the Bengals pull off the upset).

I get the feeling Huston have lost a fair bit of self belief since we popped their balloon a month back.

I really don't want to face Baltimore. Regardless of how they've been playing they find a reason to get pi$$ed at us and play super hard.

I'll take Houston at home. Baltimore at home. I like Pats at home. Ravens upset on the road. Pats-Ravens II.

Pats by 11 over Green Bay in the Big Easy.

That is awesome news, I know that I'll have to work next saturday and can get the 13th off. It would of been a miracle to of gotten the 12th off.

Colts will upset the Ravens. Mark my words.

Last game of the weekend.... good for us as we'll know how the Denver game turned out.

huh?

won't we be trying to win just as hard no matter how that game turns out?.

what's the logic there? That we'll fold our tents if we have to go to Denver? Or we'll play harder if we think we have a home AFCC game...s opposed to what?

I'll be in the minority and say I think this is not as great as others seem to think it is.

We'll be coming off a Bye, so playing on Saturday or Sunday in the Division round won't matter.

Getting the Saturday game also means that we might get our opponent traveling on a short week.

Assuming we win the Division round, it also means that we'll be playing the AFCCG on a shorter week and, most likely, have to travel to Denver.

All around, a Saturday start would have been a lot better.

I don't think it's an upset as some people think it will be. Ravens have played awful lately, losing 4 of their last 5.

luck who has what...13 INTs on the road this year? Going into balt..one of the toughest places to win..with a rookie QB in the playoffs. Can easily see balt winning by 14+

so Pats have 3 byes this year? midseason, next week, week before SB ;)

I hate the late Sunday game...there's been an upset in that slot six out of the last seven years.

Not a big fan of that spot either. I hate being last game of the weekend.

I disagree. You get your injured players an extra day compared to Saturday. You keep your players on the same schedule.

I, OTOH, agree with PFS74 for the reasons he stated.
If we win our Sunday night game, then we're looking at a shorter turnaround,
plus travelling (more than likely), with less time to recover & adjust to the altitude.

Pats get 7 days rest, which is normal, before the AFCCG. Denver gets 8 days but one day less to prepare for a team like cincinatti. It might be better to mantain the same routine ofplaying on sunday. Besides epats have two weeks now before their next game. They'll have plenty of time to get rest before the playoffs start for them.

No different than a regular season trip. Game starts at 4:30. 5 mins later than a normal regular season game. If you go to Denver, you are going to have the same amount of time to just to the altitude no matter if you play Saturday or Sunday.

Also talking about recovery, you need it more now. Uou have 1 extra day of recovery for the Divisional game.

wow a completely useless stat

if we used the usefulness of stats presented out here as a criterion for acceptance, we'd have to shut down half the threads.

Happy New Year!

normally, i.e., without an intervening Bye week, I'd agree with you; one day would be a material benefit. But in this case, i think the disadvantages associated with a short week, especially travelling, before the second game are greater.
