Of all the big time players in the draft this year, who do you think is most likely to turn out to be a dissapointment of even a bust?

For me it's Brady Quinn. I just haven't been that impressed with him this year.

    JaMarcus Russell.

Also, is it me or does every year an OT tackle prospect comes out that is "The Best OT Prospect in Years"

It was Mike Williams who went to the Bills, Then Robert Gallery, and now Joe Thomas. I dont get it, is every year considered a higher step for OT prospects?

Watch it, man, 1/3 of those were Belichick draftees :)

And some of them were allright. Turner was a very good Safety, Everitt a solid Center, Alexander a decent WR, Langham was a very good young CB for a few years, not sure what happened to him after. Powell, who knows, he blew out his ACL as a rookie. Wow, a Belichick first round LB  Vardell was a poor pick but FB actually went in the first round back then.

    FTW -
I can understand about a few of those picks. TD Tommy Vardell, Gerard Warren and Tim Couch. But Jeff Faine isn't a disappointment. Neither is Edwards when you consider it takes a bit of time for WRs to adjust to the pro game. Its too early to say that Kamerion Wimbley is a bust.

Also, Derrick Alexander was a very good WR. Antonio Langham a very good DB.

Langham was not a very good CB for the Patriots or the Browns.

As for the topic, I like Dryheat's pick, but Dwayne Jarrett edges it for me. Look at what other recent USC WR's have done in the NFL. Jarrett runs a 4.6 forty. Bustham.

Ted Ginn is an excellent pick. I suspect he is going to drop like a rock in the draft.

Next, I'd say stay away from Michael Bush.

Mel Kiper already has Quinn down to a projected ninth pick in the draft. He was projected #1 for quite a while. Will he be a Montana, Theisman, Lamonica, Lujack, or a Huarte or Mirer?

i think i was a point well made. Except for a few. I still think Edwards will be good honestly, he just has no qb. Winslow was a bust his first few seasons but turned it on this season (had a good season, but whens the last time you saw browns highlights on espn..)
wimbley has a good chance of making an impact. we'll hafta see. I wouldnt blame romeo though i thkn theyve made better picks since he started there....

my 'bust' pick would be quinn who i just see struggling on a bad team. Hes going to get picked up by a team like the lions and just never get it going...

I think Russel is a spitting image of Culpepper. Ive heard people say Mcnabb but i think McNabb is better, more mobile and smarter. Russel is like culpepper, GREAT arm strength and big bodied, i think he will be good for a couple seasons...

Ginn will be a good return man no matter what he does at WR but i think he will be kinda like a dante hall type.

im not sure i agree with jarratt being a bust either , his hands are just amazing i dont think you can judge a guy just on his 40 time.

I think Leon Hall wont do anything in the NFL hes way overrated. oh and poz from penn

I usually say whoever is the 1st round wr pick from Florida, but it looks like their won't be one this year. My stiff would be Tank Tyler. Fat, dumb & slow is no way to go through life (To paraphrase Dean Warner). Oh yeah, and he has charactor warnings as well per espn.com...

Brady Quinn will not be a bust. At worst he will be Matt Hasselbeck. The reason is that Charlie has Quinn executing all the line calls that a pro Qb would do, audibling, reading defenses. Quinn will not be shocked by the pro game's complexities at all. Also worth keeping in mind is the fact he had Ryan Harris as his LT, who did a solid imitation of a matador all year long. Some criticisms of Quinn are valid: he get's happy feet and is too quick to leave the pocket, and his accuracy leaves him at times, and he lacks poise in the big game. However, as we just observed in the SB with Manning, being a college QB choke-artist can be overcome in the NFL with lucky refereeing, decent coaching and a solid defense. I think Quinn is a safer pick than Russell, because Russell is more immature, with some potential weight issues, has always played on athletically superior teams, and his understanding of what is required of him in the pro game is a question mark. I happen to like Russell's game, and think he can flourish with the proper coaching. But he is truly a boom or bust proispect. Quinn is the safer pick. I could see him providing stability to a team that goes 9-7 to 11-5 for a decade. He actually reminds me a bit of Manning, with all the positives and negatives that go with it. A SB quality QB? Probably not, but to say he is sure to be a bust is over-reaching.

This class has a lot of scary prospects but I'll go with Dwayne Jarrett and number two I'll go with Levi Brown.

I agree. Quinn won't be the next Manning, but he won't be a bust. The ND offensive line and running games didn't do much to help Quinn this year, nor did the miserable defense, which made the offense have to come from behind quite often.

I don't think Dwayne Jarrett will be a bust. Whoever cited his 40-time as evidence is ridiculous. The kid has done nothing but dominate in a system that is as close to professional as you can find in college. His game doesn't involve dominating speed; how fast do you expect a 6-6 guy to be?

As for the bust...I saw Jamarcus Russell. Just this season everyone was criticzing him because he didn't have a "signature win." Then he throws all over a miserable Notre Dame defense and all of a sudden he's a top pick. I don't think he will be out of the league in a few years or anything, but he is going to be an interception machine.

Mike Williams was slow and dominated in college too.

My biggest bust Chad jackson again. just because he was so horrid last year, and will be just as bad this year. And all the Pats fans hoping for the light to turn on, will keep being dissapointed.

Forida WR in the 2nd rd, what were they thinking???

I'm not saying that Quinn will definitely be a bust. You could absolutely be right that he will become a good NFL quarterback. MY main reasoning is that I don't understand why he is getting top three billing because I watched Notre Dame a lot this year and he rarely looked as good as say Matt Leinart at USC. I realize that USC overall had a much more talented offense but Quinn had a pretty good back, two good wide receivers, and a good tight end. It looked like he got flustered a lot.

I doubt he will be -- he was well schooled by Charlie. But if Kiper's report becomes true (Quinn to the Phins) -- I hope he busts. Same holds true for all AFCE competitors.

I don't know of one prospect who's destined to fail...but I do believe the first round WR group is overrated with a bust or two among them. CJ of course will shine, along with one more who dons a colorful uni...

I hope you guys are aware that Kameron Wimbley had 11 sacks, which led the team. He is a very good player who can get after the QB. If the Pats were going to trade up in last years draft I was hoping it would be for Wimbley.

Now on to this years bust:

    1. Any highly rated QB
    2. Dwayne Jarrett (Mike Williams clone)
    3. Ginn Jr.
