My 2 cents before bed, and I forgot to mention this in the Caldwell v. Gaffney poll thread:
Caldwell's 1st drop, in the 3rd quarter, was the more egregious of the 2. No excuse whatsoever, even I would have caught that one. But Gaffney bailed him out on the next(?) play, so no harm, no foul.
Re: Caldwell's 2nd drop, I don't think he scores a TD there, because a dolts DB was closing on him very quickly. My question is: why the eff was Brady not in the shotgun on 1st/15? If he were, then I honestly believe that he would have seen Caldwell much earlier than he did. But because he didn't, and because Caldwell probably knew that a DB was closing on him, he tried to run before he had secured the ball. Happens to even the best of them. Poor BugEyes then gets effed by the zebra on 3rd down. Should have been 1st/goal at the 1.
And here's hoping that Troy Brown is in uniform on Opening Day.
