McGahee is classless

From PFT:

McGAHEE MIGHT NOT WANT TO GO BACK TO BUFFALO

The Buffalo Bills traded running back Willis McGahee to the Baltimore Ravens. In 2007, the Buffalo Bills play the Baltimore Ravens.

And the game is scheduled to be played in Buffalo.

On the surface, the notion of McGahee heading back to Western New York doesn't have the same sex appeal as T.O.'s return to the Linc. But, by the time the game is played, the venom flowing from the local fans to their former star could eclipse the hatred that folks in Philly felt for Terrell Owens.

If, of course, McGahee continues to run his mouth.

"I couldn't wait to get out of there," McGahee told the Baltimore Sun regarding his former home. He fled after the season ended, and had no intention of returning.

When the trade to Baltimore went through, McGahee got his wish. "I was yelling and [stuff], running through the whole house, screaming, 'Yes! Yes!'" McGahee said. "It was such a relief."

So what was the problem with Buffalo?

"Coming from Miami, I was used to partying, going out, just having something to do every night. Restaurants, whatever. Going to Buffalo, it was like hitting a brick wall. Like, 'Damn!' Can't go out, can't do nothing. There's an Applebee's, a TGI Friday's, and they just got a Dave & Busters. They got that, and I'm like, 'What the?' And, you know, the women . . . ."

What about the women, Willis? Please, elaborate. Because we can't wait to see the welcome that those women will provide when you come back, hopefully for a prime time game.

"You see, when I was in college that's what I used to thrive off of," McGahee said of his status in Miami. "The better you do, the more fame you get. So you know, it was like, I was used to that. And then you get to Buffalo and no matter how you do, it's the same. It's no big city. You know what I did every day? I came home and played video games."

Frankly, there are far worse things McGahee could have been doing. We realize that most NFL players are young men who crave the adoration and all that that implies. But life is a lot more than hanging out in clubs and being surrounded by people who would never tell you anything you don't want to hear. The sooner that every NFL player understands this, the sooner we'll be able to quit tracking so many player arrests.

having spent time in buffalo and baltimore i hate to inform mcgahee that baltimore is actually the more run down of the 2 places. ravens owners did some kind of sell job getting willis to beleive baltimore nightlife was on par w/ miami, new york and LA. heck, it's arguably no better than green bay wisconsin

So he doesn't like the fat chicks in Buffalo, who does? :singing:

By the way Boston has decent clubs but the puritanical 2am closing time and the fact that the T stops running by 1am is absolutely lame. In LA there is a hot club every night including Monday & Tuesday. Boston is pretty slim pickings those nights. 1B is right, Boston is good but not world class like NY, Miami or LA.

I think McGahee as a young black man will have a better time in Baltimore anyways because of its proximity to Wash DC. There is a great hip hop scene down there. Buffalo? I can't imagine its an exciting place for a young black guy to live.

He's an ass, but he had a point.

When Chidi Ahanotu played for the Bills, he actually lived in Toronto and drove to practice.

I can give a damn whether McGahee likes Buffalo or not, but I just thought it was weird that he never even went into Buffalo to see what was there. It's like going to Foxboro and saying, man, Boston is a small little town with only one main road.

McGahee's a douche. Back in '03, I was hoping the Pats would draft him, thank the lord they didn't. I'm sure Baltimore feels really good signing him to a long term deal, then having McGahee rip the city of Buffalo. I live in California, but the last time I checked, Baltimore, MD isn't that much different then Buffalo. Have fun douche bag!

Last time I was there I seem to remember them stop serving at 2 but close at 3 but that was a few years ago.

I used to feel like Cinderella when clubbing in Boston. Down here in Tampa the clubs are open til 3 and the strip clubs even later than that (not that I would know). LOL

I know for a fact that Willis enjoyed the Candian casinos up there. I go to the Pats/Buffalo game every year up there, and we saw him out at the casino after the game two years ago.

I do have to say that I have been severly intoxicated and had loads of fun whenever I am in buffalo, but it's also what I make of it. I would HATE to live there, but for one night, it's not a bad place to be. Chippewa (sp?) St is a great street to hang out on. :)

tampa is awesome...honestly i would be miserable in buffalo too...not saying i would publically diss it like mcgahee but yeah...im not a huge baltimore guy either but i danno beats buffalo

aw, cmon. everyone knows buffalo is awful. i've been there for 4 pats games and stayed in the only hotel downtown, which consists of a minor league baseball park and a tram straight out of 1972. good tailgating at the stadium, though.

toronto and chicago are 2 great cities. i would love to get back to toronto someday.

dosen't chicago close at 2 as well? i was just there 2 yrs ago and i couldve sworn it closed at 2. Boston shoots itself in the foot so badly when it comes to the 2 am curfew as well as the T stoppage. and now they want to re-do the theatre district and people are complaining about that, too??? also, boston should take a page out of chicago's book when it comes to the waterfront...navy pier is a cool place, touristy, but cool. the politics in boston keep it from becoming a tier 1 city, although there are only 2-3 of those in this country i think...

The only hotel downtown? Pffffft.
How can anyone take you people seriously?
Adam's Mark, Hyatt, Marriott, Hampton Inn, Radisson, The Mansion (one of the top 10 hotels in America http://www.hotel-online.com/News/2007_Feb_07/k.BFH.1170953000.html), dozens of others and now Wyndham is opening one. All downtown within 3 blocks of each other.

On the way to D.C., I got tired of the freeway and got off onto Rt 44. Just outside of Baltimore, I was impressed by the Tuesday night roadhouse promotion advertised on a sandwich board:
Tues nite
All you can drink $5
100 lbs spuds $3.99

Of course, this was 15 yrs ago, prices have probably gone up, but still--

Someone should start a poll on how long into his "break-out" season McGahee will last before he's summoned to Goodell's office.:D

Not to keep this outdone thread alive...but I'm heading to Tampa in a few weeks. Where part of town are all the clubs in? Someone mentioned west shore (I think).??
