Kevin Faulk Rocks!!!

Haha, I agree...that was classic. Brady said that Faulk came off the field and everyone was congradulating him and Belichick said "hold on to the [censored] ball!"

I fully understand the need to dive with the ball unprotected. The idea is to get the ball to cross the plane, not stop people from having their little heart attacks.

I think once the player sees the pylon or the line it's his job to extend the arm and get the ball out there regardless of whether he can hang on to it or not after it crosses the plane.

If he had protected the ball and been hammered at the one then we might not have scored at all.

Also, I think he might have chosen to dive because he knew he was going to fall. I think he made the right call to dive and put the ball out in front of him.

It was a great play. But, I am sure that you can understand why people on this board are a little fearful of any play that needs those strippy'ed guys to use their brains, because they have no brains with which to use.;)

Kevin's awesome and I think he's really worked on his ball protection too, most of the time now when he's running into contact he's got both arms wrapped around it so tight you can hardly even see the ball.

Yes I agree. He is very quick in his decision making. He decides, and goes. I really don't even see the decision being made most of the time. Morris had some of this also. These guys seem to know where the yards are, and they eat them up very quickly. All of a sudden it is second and 3. And you look around and say, did anyone catch that play?

In a word he is "surgical."

He is underated by a lot of people but not the Pats

To be fair, he was already coming down by contact, so it wouldn't have made a difference, once the ball crossed the goal line.

Obviously you missed BB's entire point to Kevin; I hope Kevin didn't.
Don't EVER drop the rock. The next time there may not be the 'plane of the goal line' to save your ass.

That said, BB loves Faulk and loves being the hardass.

Faulk touchdown gave the pats the lead and won the game for the team.
If the Pats cant get in on that drive they kick the field goal and manning would have marched on the patriots again.

Faulk's touchdown was not easy, that play was suppose to be a small gain but faulk made it more, a lot more, faulk made it a game winning touchdown.

- Faulk is the Patriots' all-time leader in receptions by a running back, totaling 276 catches in his eight-year career
- Patriots' all-time leading return specialist, totaling 4,641 combined return yards
- Patriots' all-time kickoff return leader with 169 returns for 3,871 yards and two touchdowns. He became the all-time leader on Oct. 13, 2002

On top of that, he's been a running back in the NFL for 8 years! There aren't a lot of RB's that can last that long. Practice and training camp alone kill most guys.

I think something that Faulk does so well that often gets unnoticed is chip the rushing DE's to help out the tackles. Once the Patriots settled down in the 3 WR, 1 TE, 1 RB set in the 4th quarter it was up to Faulk to help out either Light or Kazcur before he left the flat. Because of this, LB's often lose him in the mix which is why it seems he is so wide open in the middle of the field. I mean minus that non-called PI play in the 3rd, have you ever seen Faulk covered? His contributions to this team are beyond words. Just his leadership by example to go out their and due his job on every play no matter what shows these younger kids the importance of blitz pickup, blocking, and really a willingness to help the team at all costs.

I've been saying Faulk rocks for a ages, but whenever I bring it up on the board I have been flamed.

Seems to be a lot of disrespect aimed at Faulk for some fumbles he made a while ago.

Faulk has made a massive contribution to the team and has been a key part in many of our wins.

I totally agree. The combination of him in there with the 3W is really a winner now. All the cylinders seem to fire when he is in there. It is a deadly combination.

He is a great blocker as has been mentioned here, and through out the training camps and years. Great protector. Further, he is extremely knowledgable, so he knows what Brady wants to do. He knows the big picture very well it seems. He just grabs what is there and the opposition is usually a day late and a dollar short.

We are so lucky to have a coach who can understand how all these pieces fit together. I think about Faulk and Welker and it is like having two nice motorcycles or something. And then you have these sportscars like Moss and Stallworth. I mean, talk about some toys!

It is boarderline hilarious.

I think that a lot of fans simply want a fantasy running back. Ya know? A big name that they can say, "He da best one in da league!"

Faulk does not really fit their argument. Like westbrook, these guys don't get the love a lot of times. It don't matter. There are many of us who enjoy the fact that Faulk reminds us over and over that he should not be forgotten. ;)
