God, I thought Chucky was going to add some class to that group, but he got caught up in the idiocy as much as the other two. I wish I had had my DVR installed so I could have synched it up with Gil and Gino but instead I just got extensive work on my Mute button.

Anyone think another crew is worse?

I thought they really got caught up in wanting to see the monumental upset. I thought Gruden, in particular, looked outwardly disappointed when they showed them during their post-game analysis. Matt Light's mother will be pleased to learn that he (Gruden) has re-named her son.

Found them somewhat boorish, was hoping for much more.. had a tendency to go on and on and on... they really wanted the upset.

Yeah i had that thought along the way, especially when i think (chucky) said that if someone like TO can play they don't have baggage.

I'm starting to think three people in the both is one two many

I thought they were OK. Chucky was kind of stupid when he tried to bring up the tuck rule (followed by about a miinute of silence from Jaws and Tirico). I liked what he and Jaws were, inferring regarding the protection of the QB's, basically saying the protection and penalties are too much - it's still football.

Was that Gruden's first time calling a game? I think it was. Overall I thought they were really good but had some obvious early season gaffes. Todd light was one. Tirico had a couple of others. But for the most part I liked them.

I thought they did ok. Trust me, if you heard the twits that do the Titans games, you'd think everyone else was good. They were definately better than M&M on the Oakland/Chargers game

The Todd Light thing bothered me...get the name right, will you? But overall, I liked it. I loved the "debate" between Jaws and Gruden over whether the Pats should kick off or go for the onside kick. Jaws, the QB, got it right, while Gruden, the coach, was wrong.

I like this team. Better than having Dennis Miller or Kornheiser.

It's a real drag that there is a timing delay, at least at my house between the TV and Radio, I can't listen to Gil and Gino because the play is over by the time Gil calls it. The tv announcers are just horrible, everytime all the time. Did you notice when Gruden and even Jaws were talking about what the Bills had to do that they always used the term We, we have to do this and we have to do that.
I have to find away to watch tv and listen to Gil and Gino.

Schobel pretty much renamed him and tatooed it on his ass in the first half.

I can't count how many times they called the Pats the Bills and vice versa, Todd Light, etc. They sound like a trio doing a high school football game in Rochester.

Razor's have you looked into a DVR? What I do is I use my DVR and the Internet radio and synch it up by pausing the DVR and restarting it at the appropriate time when the game starts and then just go from there. Sometimes it takes a little while to get the timing exact, but it's worth it not to have to listen to such terrible announcers. I only do that when there are announcers I don't like on.

Gruden is much better than Kornheiser, at least we didn't keep hearing about fantasy stats all night. If you ever want to see a truly painful broadcast, go back and listen to some of the NFLN games with Bryant Gumbell doing the play by play.....those were the worst I've ever seen.

i disagree with the CW here. i actually thought they were pretty good, especially since it was Gruden's first night on the job and they were obviously lobbing him high hangers a few times. he did make a few rookie mistakes, but otherwise i liked his take and the back and forth with Jaws.

Jaworski's breakdown of Brady's foot and leg movements and pocket mobility in the first half was really good and he complemented that by showing the times when he was stepping into throws like the "old TB."

i actually thought they were overhyping the Pats at the beginning and then went overboard in the other direction when the game was definitely going to be competitive.

as for pulling for the upset, it was their job to keep hyping that story line and make sure viewers stayed glued to their sets; plus, let's face it, 90% of the country outside Patriots Nation wanted the upset, except for folks who had a lot of money on the spread.

speaking of the spread, two teams that were picked to win by more than a combined 20 points, with 90% of the money going their way, won by a a total of five. lots of happy bookies and unhappy bettors this morning.

I'm onboard with you, Pat. Seriously guys, if you can overlook the minor gaffs, you might actually learn something from about football this duo, which you can't from any other analysts I've heard for a while. While I hate ESPN like everyone else, IMHO Jaws and Gruden are must see TV on monday night REGARDLESS of who is playing.

Pat74 pointed out the insight on Brady's not stepping into the throw. Then he compared it to the way he was passing in the 2nd half. Gruden took the time to explain WHY TO and EVANS weren't being factors, and how the Pats were taking him out of the game. He not only also told us BEFORE Watson's TD that they would have to attack the middle of their defense, he told us WHY.

I can't remember getting that many insights from a duo of analysts before. Hey you can nitpick all you want, but Tirico stayed out of the way and let these guys do their thing and they did it well.

tirico kept calling the bills the pats and the pats the bills and how do they keep calling light, todd ? they are not the only two people who share the same last name. he must be the greatest db of all time. i'll bet they never do that to either of the manning's for 3 quarters. i thought gruden was going to be good but he sucked. espn just basically sucks. loved bruschi though.

Wow, I guess we have vastly different tastes, but to each his own.

They did that only because they were imitating Al Davis. It was an anecdote.

I enjoyed someone who has some education about football, using football terminology analyzing the game and the plays. Did you forget last year so soon?

Kornheiser:Well karma this and that and blah blah blah. /wash balls of some player

Gruden: We we have an overloaded right side so Brady wisely called a Ringo to roll portection right and pickup the RB out in the left flat for a solid gain.

The many folks on this board who have never stepped on the field would be wise to listen and learn something.
