Half the team is already in the Bahamas for the next 6 months while we are slaving away at life. That's how I put losses in prospective.

This loss felt different to me than other losses (2007, 2010, 2011, 2012) in the sense that I didn't feel like we were the superior team that had gotten screwed by fate. We were clearly the worse team on Sunday, and the fact that we fought until the end made me more proud than anything; I think I was only really sad for about 10 minutes after the game ended. Of course I'm a little bummed that I won't get to see the Pats play meaningful football until September, but after Malcolm Butler's interception, everything that happens for the rest of Brady/Belichick's careers is just gravy.
Damn that does suck. At least I was playing it by ear since I'll be in CA close enough to drive anyway. But just think if you had flown all the way out there, dropped like $10k and they got crushed...
Coming from someone who's been to a close loss (Super Bowl XLVI) and a close win (Super Bowl XLIX), it is one of the most stressful events I have ever attended. I was almost in tears in Indy, but seeing a bunch of ****y Seahawks fans around me immediately sit down in angst and disappointment after the interception instantly made up for all the previous losses. A friend of mine who went with us to Indy, ended up staying home for Arizona because he said that he wouldn't be able to stomach another loss like that. Don't fret man, you'll see them in the Super Bowl. I'm confident that they'll get one for the thumb beforeHonesty...just to see a SB live...with my team in it..the Pats...would still be amazing. Something i need and will do in my life!
Yowza, that's 40 years of angst! Still doesn't top Jets fans' 47 years, though ...Truth be told, I'm still not over the loss to the Raiders in 1976.
That game was crazy! It went from no scoring to a crazy amount of points at the end of the 1st half. Second half was back and forth too. What a tough, hard fought game by both teams. I'm upset bout 07 and 11, but I can't complain too much with 4 out of 6 because we could have easily lost this game, Rams, and the Seattle game. The Philly game was a one score game too. I can't imagine what it was like for Bills fans and losing 4 Super bowls in a row. I've also been watching old superbowl wins this week. It's crazy the amount of success this team has had over the last 16 years.Watched the Pats-Panthers SB yesterday on NFL network...cheered me up quite a bit. I forgot AV missed that FG in the 2nd.
Two years ago in March, I had an interesting conversation over a few beers with Rich Gedman about this topic. I spend most of each March in Ft. Myers Beach and Rich is there with the Red Sox in Ft. Myers. We share a common friend who lives in FMB now originally from our hometown near Worcester and Rich is from Worcester. Anyway, old-timers like me will remember that Rich was the Red Sox catcher in Game 6 of the 1986 World Series (remember Mookie Wilson?) and Bob Stanley threw a wild pitch in that fateful inning which many thought should have been called a passed ball on Gedman. Anyway, he said that he had a far more difficult time getting over that loss not just due to that play, but because he was a local guy and the 1918/Curse of the Bambino BS was ingrained in him since childhood. He said the other players not from NE were upset, but were over it by Thanksgiving. Rich said he'll never be completely over it, as many fans won't.I also want to add that I really believe that fans take the losses harder than the players. Yeah I am sure it bothers the players but for now long?
