Patriots coach Bill Belichick held his Wednesday press conference (10:50 a.m.) and one point he made was how the Bengals are a "turnover-driven" defense. While avoiding turnovers is key any week, it might have added importance Monday night. The Bengals' nine takeaways (5 interceptions; 4 fumble recoveries) lead the AFC and rank third in the NFL.

I think this is a stat to keep an eye on, but also tells a larger story. The Bengals D is giving up all these points, and their team is 1-2, despite the fact that they have forced the most turnovers in the AFC. That they have STILL managed to lose and give up a lot of points, even with that (self-realized) advantage, may say a lot about how BAD they are as much as the turnover numbers bespeak a defense that is more dangerous than their rep.

It was much the same last year, the Bengals were 30th in yards allowed and 17th in points allowed and tied for 8th-11th in creating turnovers. They aren't very good if you're careful with the ball - as the Patriots generally are.

on the positive side, the pats will learn alot about our own secondary this week. namely, weather we can stop a team in the red zone....or not

That was far more bad defense than good offense.
I see it more like Cincy gave up 50 than Cleve scored 50 if that makes any sense.

The Bengals Defense is soooo bad.................

The French Army called them and told them they suck!

It is rumored that Tom Brady used Bengals brand condoms last year!

Their front 7 is as bad as it gets. Patriots will cram the ball down their throats unless they stuff 9 in the box.

    Seattle is hugely overrated.

I think Matt Hasselbeck is way overrated.

Not a good barometer. Our defense is much more physical.

Even with 9 in the box, the way the O-line is playing, + Kyle Brady in there, I think they'll be able to hold them back enough for (Tom) Brady to get the ball off. And when the Bengals are trying to defend deep vs the pass, Maroney and Morris will simply run all over them.

All in all, I'm gonna say the offense has nothing to worry about, they're gonna tear through this Bengals D.

Still, the Seahawks did pretty well. Alexander averaged almost 5 YPC, Hasselbeck completed 65% of his passes. Bengals did get two INT, that's their saving grace if they get them.

Bad enough that I do not even feel I am going out on a limb when I say that I think the Pats will easily go over 200 Yards rushing for the game.

300 is a very reasonable amount.

Jamal Lewis had over 200 and he's been washed up for a few seasons. Maroney and Morris could easily both have 100yd games.
