    Re: Pacman wants in

Why bother quoting (or even reading!) a Tomase?!?! This is all PR from his lawyer to drive up the interest on Pacman. Pacman would go to any team since he knows he only has one shot left in the NFL and Titans office & players most likely have had enuf of him (he let them down).

As far as wanting Pacman, I still think we can take a 'guarded' chance on him looking at the PATS track record in the past (like a 1 year with a sh*t load of fine print in it that will void the contract if he even steps foot in a stripclub for example). Its obvious the guy could (COULD) become an incredible CB & is already a great PR / KR and only cost a mid-round pick.

This guy just feels too risky, even for the Pats. I hope they say, "no thanks." The Pats' lack of quality at cormer makes me nervous they would actually consider this guy.

    Re: Pacman wants in

It will NEVER happen. But honestly I'd like to see them take a giant gamble on him. It wouldn't cost much and if anything bad happens you can just cut him and not lose much. The Krafts however would never allow it to happen.

    Re: Pacman wants in

I have mixed feelings about this.

No question PacMan is a huge douche. But he also has what it takes to be the best CB in the NFL.

    We shall see...

Pacman's agent basically drumming up interest in his client. He told the Dallas papers Pacman was a very good fit for him too.

He'd be a great fit for either team, at least on the field.

    Re: Pacman wants in

Other teams draft and trade for a**holes every day. Because the patriots have carefully evaluated and acquired two (2), they're now the haven for troubled players?

    Don't believe it.

Moss and Dillon were both great football players who made mistakes and wanted to prove themselves on the field.

Pac Man want to make it rain.

    Big difference.

You do know that rules of this sort have been used throughout American sports history, right?

    No Jersey Selected

    Re: Pacman wants in

I doubt Robert or Myra Kraft will buy into this. The one thing Robert Kraft didn't want was "thugs" on his team. And if there is one guy that embodies that, it's Pacman.

This isn't like Dillon or Moss or Meriweather...

Rules have been used more and more through history.

We have full prisons to prove it.

    Re: Pacman wants in

There is a world of challenge difference between thugs and hoodlums and former malcontents who may have acted out due to frustration. Kraft still has to be sold on any potentially problematic acquisition, and this one would require one hell of a tough sell.

Dillon and Moss had each had brushes with the law but much earlier in or even before their pro careers. Neither was an underlying impediment to their trading team - each of whom had longstanding management or mismanagement issues at its core. They were trying to get away from those before their careers ended on a sour note. PacMan has been a problem for his drafting team who has given up on him as a result DESPITE his being a superior talent. He just wants to get back on the field anywhere. His own lawyer - and this is his criminal lawyer talking, not his agent - thinks it needs to be with a winner, which just tells me even he forsees the potential for this player to continue to find trouble.

Belichick will take a well calculated risk on guys who can convince him they will not pose a problem off the field or in the locker room and they care passionately about playing championship football on the field. PacMan didn't get in trouble because the Titans weren't winning, he got in trouble while he was already in trouble because he's a self absorbed screw up. We're not running the NFL version of work release here.

    Re: Pacman wants in

They just reported on ESPN radio that Pacman is close to going to Dallas (for a mid-round pick). Good luck to him there.
