WEEI never let's us down. The Pats are in the playoffs going up against the best team in the league record-wise this year. They are really hitting on the hot-button issues going into this week's game like reminiscing about Tony C and why he doesn't get Hall of Fame consideration, did Jerry Rice get enough votes to stay on the Hall of Fame ballot, should Mark Maguire get into the Hall, and why didn't every voter vote to let Carl Ripkin into the Hall.
Most other sports stations deal with trivial issues about this game like LaDamian Tomlinson, Phillip Rivers, and Marty Schottenheimer. WEEI cuts through all the BS and gets to the core of this match up between the Pats and Chargers - Major League Baseball. Kudos!
Don't they realize that they have lost the Red Sox to their sister station? They don't need to stroke Theo's and John Henry's fragile egos and fear of being overshadowed by the Pats at any time during the year? Can they stop pandering to Red Sox Nation at least until after the Super Bowl or whenever the Pats are eliminated (we all know it will be the Super Bowl ).
Felger has become what is bad about the sports media, but I find myself listening to him more in the afternoon because at least he talks football. And he has Borges on twice a week and it is fun listening to him trying to find all the angles why Belichick isn't a great coach and take less than veiled shots at Belichick.
