WEEI never let's us down. The Pats are in the playoffs going up against the best team in the league record-wise this year. They are really hitting on the hot-button issues going into this week's game like reminiscing about Tony C and why he doesn't get Hall of Fame consideration, did Jerry Rice get enough votes to stay on the Hall of Fame ballot, should Mark Maguire get into the Hall, and why didn't every voter vote to let Carl Ripkin into the Hall.

Most other sports stations deal with trivial issues about this game like LaDamian Tomlinson, Phillip Rivers, and Marty Schottenheimer. WEEI cuts through all the BS and gets to the core of this match up between the Pats and Chargers - Major League Baseball. Kudos!

Don't they realize that they have lost the Red Sox to their sister station? They don't need to stroke Theo's and John Henry's fragile egos and fear of being overshadowed by the Pats at any time during the year? Can they stop pandering to Red Sox Nation at least until after the Super Bowl or whenever the Pats are eliminated (we all know it will be the Super Bowl :D ).

Felger has become what is bad about the sports media, but I find myself listening to him more in the afternoon because at least he talks football. And he has Borges on twice a week and it is fun listening to him trying to find all the angles why Belichick isn't a great coach and take less than veiled shots at Belichick.

Very true avout EEI SOME of the time..I agree the baseball talk is way out of whack ESPECIALLY now...but Felger is an idiot..a fair weather wind bag...I listen to HIM a few times a week until he says something REALLY stupid....and then back yo other things..Imagine if he was really smart and intelligennt about football??? HEY don't forget the Troy Brown show AFTER felgeron Tuesdays!!

Do yourself a favor and get Sirius you won't regret it.

I actually have Sirius. I just like to get a Pats perspective this time of the year. Sirius is too general and tends to focus on other teams more than the Pats. Besides, there is only so much Adam Schein you can take.

Funny, people don't seem to mind when they talk Red Sox 24/7 from just after the draft through October. The Big Show is afraid to talk about football unless DeOssie, Smerlas, or Curran is on. They have baseball guys on in December and January, but they will never have pure football guy on in June. They only let DeOssie on because he can talk intelligently about baseball.

I'm sorry. This shouldn't be a WEEI thread. It should be a Big Show thread. That is the only show during the day that really seems incapable of talking football unless they have the right panel.

For a second I thought you were going to say that they spent two hours talking about the Celtics!!!

I can't believe they'd have the gall to talk about baseball on the day the Hall of Fame inductees are announced.

Hey, if they can have no NFL Draft talk policy during the eight hour morning Baseball Show the Sunday of NFL draft weekend (which they strictly enforce every year because in my opinion Sean McAdam is tired of looking like a moron trying to talk football), they can limit the baseball talk today. WEEI constantly blows off important offseason NFL milestones like the draft for baseball and these milestones happen early in the baseball season. They could apply the same standards today in a relatively uneventful induction day. The biggest controversy is that Ripkin didn't get 100% of the votes.

WEEI has a double standard when it comes to baseball and football. They will never interupt baseball talk during the season for a milestone like the NFL Hall of Fame. They have no problem interupting the talk of football in the playoffs to talk about the MLB Hall of Fame inductions.

just change the dial .give me a break .send a email to weei or somthing .weei is the number one rated sports station in the country .they arent changing anything nor should they .i happen to think they talk plenty of football .they have great football guest on every week .

I have to agree with Rob0729. This is definitely a big show issue. Dale and Holley talked Pats for a majority of their show. They did not discuss the HOF voting too much.

I Hate the Big show. They have the worst content to commercial ratio of any radio show, and Grossmans Bargain Outlet can suck it.

I have the utmost respect for Jerry Rice but I really don't think his little league stats make him worthy of the baseball Hall of Fame.

Dale and Holley talked more football than baseball because the HOF announcement came about late in their show, if not at the opening of the Big Show.

As for the distribution of football talk vs baseball talk, I think those who think they talk "enough" football do not listen enough, year round. They talk football on Monday's when they are contractually obligated to, on Friday before a big game, and then at sporadic other times during the day from September-January. From Febrary-August, you get a mention now and again, but little else. Near draft time, Dale and Holley will talk some football but that would be about it.

What bothers me most is not the lack of equal attention, it is the lack of knowledge. Mike Adams knows nothing of football. Glenn Ordway is a wonderful moderator but rarely brings anything new to the table. If his guests cannot talk inteligently on a topic, his show is done. Dale and Holley really let their callers drive their show, but they are more like Mike & Maddog on WFAN. The have their specialties but niether is terribly well rounded. The morning show is nothing more than a politcal rant veiled as a sports talk radio show. They take unpreparedness to a new level when it comes to discussions of anything this side of right wing politics. There was a day where they had to look up who the patriots were playing the following Sunday. That is inexcusable.

Hey, at least Jim the Wrestling Goon was banned from their air.

baseball is just a filler when football is not being played. it's more or less background noise during a quiet summer night.
