Goodell plans more expansion of NFL games in London..

i dont see a big deal with putting a team in london. What they should do, if they are smart, is switch the dolphins and the jags, since the pats tend to play a game in london every other year at least anyways. Also it makes sense to have the AFC east teams do the every year travel since its the shortest trip.

The london jags would then open the season with 5 road games staying stateside for the duration, then as teams start to get their byes, each opponent would travel to the Jags the week after their bye week. then for the final weeks they could travel back and forth for their roadgames vs the AFCE opponents.

This is an argument for suborbital transfer ships 30-60 minutes from anywhere. Are you listening Virgin Spaceways & SpaceX? God and Robert Heinlein intended it so.

That's insane.

why is it insane? flights to london are a bit longer then flights to the westcoast.

the patriots are going to play there almost every year anyways, so all you need to do is compensate for the 2 other AFCE teams that are going to need to travel.

The you just schedule jag roadgames to be in batches of 3-4 so that they dont need to fly back and forth every week.

Would it be tricky? yes. would it be better then flying back and forth every week? yes

If a team is going to go its gotta be afc east just for the logistics of it, you are not going to have houston, Tenn, and Indy make that flight every year, not when you have 3 teams(jets/bills/pats all right close to the coast.

It would be a mess. You can't compare it to East Coast-West Coast trips because it's a five-hour time difference vs. three. Flipping back and forth even with a few weeks' extended stay would wreak havoc with players' body clocks. How would they handle an eight-hour time difference with trips to places like San Diego and Seattle? You also really challenge fan interest with those extended road trips, especially if their team loses three or four straight. But I'm opposed to the concept of non-U.S. teams to begin with, so for me it's a non-starter.

Good luck to them when it comes to attracting free agents.

We need to continue to remember that Goodell answers to the owners. BTW, it is Kraft that has been one of the strongest advocates to expansion into Europe.

Then the NFL should bring back the NFL Europe league. 1 franchise in London competing against 31 in the states makes no sense. Football, as much as its king in the states will never pass soccer world wide, or for that matter basketball, rugby, or even cricket. Football is America's game and that's where it should stay.

Your comparing that with east coast teams. Imagine when the cycle comes to play the west coast. That's a long trip. I'll be willing to bet, London doesn't want an NFL franchise, and the NFL doesn't need a franchise their.

While it's not impossible, there's just not enough reason to do it. Just too big of a pain in the ass. If Toronto wants a team, cool. Otherwise keep the game in America.

like i said, those teams would only travel to london after their byes, so they would have a week to travel to london, adapt, play, and then fly home.

My whole point is under the assumption that a team IS going. obviously if there isnt enough pressure to put a team in europe its moot, but if a team IS going its gotta be afce

Why the hatred for the NFCE?
