    72. Since 2008, there have been 20 receivers with more than 65 targets of at least 21 yards downfield. The only one not to drop a deep ball? Brandon Lloyd (88 targets).

    73. Over the past two seasons, with Josh McDaniels as his head coach or primary offensive coordinator, Lloyd was the most targeted receiver on throws deeper than 20 yards downfield, with 73 such targets.

    74. Calvin Johnson was second with 64.

    75. Lloyd has done this with Kyle Orton, Tim Tebow, Sam Bradford, A.J. Feeley and Kellen Clemens as his quarterbacks.

    76. Lloyd's quarterback this year is Tom Brady. And his offensive coordinator is Josh McDaniels.

Lloyd looks poised to have a Perfect Storm year to me. He's an unusual talent whose name doesn't automatically come up as a Top 10 type of receiver but watch the film.

Part of the Storm thing for me is him getting back together with Josh, and the second part would be hooking up with a guy named Brady. Tremendous potential there. No Ocho moments trying to learn the playbook, etc.

What gets me is that more than a few writers have reiterated the notion that he's not a "true deep threat". I guess this is because of his 40 time, but let's just look at the numbers you posted and kind of think for ourselves for a moment. He is a deep threat, and he's a reliable deep threat at that. He probably has football speed as opposed to sprinter speed, but let everybody choose to think he can't get behind them.

I don't do fantasy but Lloyd would be my first drafted WR if I did. I wonder how he is in the RZ, but we have so many RZ options that I'm not too concerned. Just open things up and this offense should be good for 5k yards in the blink of an eye. Jeezuz, 5k without him so what do we expect without going crazy with this? This **** could make you crazy. This could be a record year even by their standards.

The only question that I have is how many touches are realistic for Lloyd??

Between Gronk, Welker, Hernandez, Gaffney? and Stallworth.. there are only so many passing plays.

So the predictions may be less...

    No Jersey Selected

Fantasy wise, he makes me nervous. Too many hands, not enough footballs. Between Welker, Gronk, Gaffney, and Hernandez I just don't know how much the ball will need to go to Lloyd. I am sure it will sometimes, but as a fantasy WR Welker is a MUCH safer pick especially in PPR leagues.

Lloyd will eclipse 1200 yards this season, expect him to be the top dog.

Lloyd will get a lot of looks. It will be him welker gronk and hernandez taking most of the touches...gaffney and stallworth won't take from lloyd

1,000 yards this year is my prediction for him

Why has Stallworth been mentioned 3 times in this thread, yet Branch isn't even mentioned once?

That's an easy one: because after the one and only day of training camp reports, Stallworth got some positive mentions and Branch didn't. Welcome to kneejerk season! Isn't it great to have football back? :)

Why is Stallworth so relevant and Branch so irrelevant?

Why would he be jettisoned in favor of Stallworth?

Because Branch is declining rapidly, presumably the #4 WR, doesn't contribute on special teams, and brings nothing to the receiving corps that Lloyd, Welker, or Gaffney doesn't. Stallworth seems to still have his wheels, is in contention to be the primary kick returner, and adds speed that none of the top three receivers has. Now Stallworth could completely bomb as a receiver, but his ceiling is a lot higher than that of Branch's assuming both are the #4 WR.

Right now, I'm in favor of neither of them making the roster, though, and giving that spot to either Ebert or another position. It'll take injuries to two of Lloyd, Welker, Gaffney, Gronkowski, and Hernandez before I start worrying about the receiving group no matter who it consists of beyond those top 5.

If wheels and ceilings were the determinants, you'd see Brandon Tate out there today.

Lloyd, Welker, Gronkowski, and Hernandez will be measured by how many significant plays they make per game. Ditto Gaffney during those games somebody else is hurt.

The other WRs and TEs will be measured by how many plays they make per season.
