Lloyd to Pats? Not so fast!

I'm honestly not for bringing this guy in. He has above average hands and good speed but not tall enough to out jump tall DB's. Now after reading this article, I am certain I do not want him. It will be interesting to see what happens though.
    Thoughts?

He will get shut down by Revis, but should produce in other games. He's worth the investment

    It's just a rehashing of Bedard's article.

Above average hands? He has excellent hands, a nice burst, gets good separation and runs precise routes, especially 10-20 yards off on sideline seam patterns. Watch some tape/film of him in STL or DEN. He's a very good player.

I like Colston more because he is a bigger target who extends better with similar qualities. If anything though Lloyd's hands are better. My reservation about Lloyd is attitude, but as someone else said, McDaniel knows him as well as anyone in the NFL.

    #12 Jersey

Thanks for linking to the article, but please don't paste the full text of it into your post- just a snippet with a link works better. Having the full text here leads to Ian having to deal with legal threats/hassle, etc.

I don't agree with the hands assessment--he has great hands from everything that I've seen--but admittedly, my entire Lloyd stance is "McDaniels knows him better than anyone. If he wants him, I want him".

Colston is a product of the system he's in. He doesnt get great separation...I don't get why people want him so badly...Plus he's always nursing an injury...

    #95 Jersey

If we get a Saint, go for Meachem, he gets separation and would stretch the field.....

Gee, a reciever with an attitude, thats rare in the NFL

As long as he knows his role here and to shut up he'll be fine, if he knows that going in and agrees then I think he'll be ok.

    Disable Jersey

It comes down to the Pats deciding one thing...Is Loyd a dog-faker?

More on Lloyd from St. Louis Post Dispatch:

"...don't expect the Rams to make a huge push for Brandon Lloyd. Lloyd has been openly lobbying for a spot in New England. In addition, the view at Rams Park is that even though Lloyd has talent, he gets next to no yards after the catch."

Trading No. 2 pick gives Rams plenty of options

well, Mcdaniels didnt seem to have a problem with him considering he traded for him to get lloyd with the rams..

honestly though, I think this is good news at least for the Patriots hope....the fact that he has only excelled in Mcdaniels system, and rumors of attitude problems coming out, not to mention a Strong WR market should drive Lloyds price down.

and Belichick has never had a problem bringing on a player who may have abit of an "attitude" Corey Dillon, Randy Moss anyone???

    No Jersey Selected

Man, if Lloyd doesn't get a deal with the Pats, it's going to be a sad story for him. Well, not tragic, in the bigger world picture, but, in the context, sad.
