Re: FINALLY someone national brings up playing conditions regarding Brady and Manning

The signs point that you're pretty clueless.

Brady has more rings and is better in the stats that matter the most: Passer rating and Adjusted yards per pass attempt.

Manning and Brady have played 22 seasons combined. Manning has 8 of the top 11 passer rating seasons between them and 7 of the top 11 Adjusted yards/attempt.

So who is better in those categories?

If longevity gives edges, Brett Favre would be better than Manning.

Favre played pretty poorly in a lot of his later years. Manning never did, so it wouldn't give Favre and edge over Manning.

And yet Brady's career rating is higher. Weird.

Re: FINALLY someone national brings up playing conditions regarding Brady and Manning

That's a very nice collection of subjective lists. And it looks like some of them were done before Manning threw away a SB and, I dunno, the entire 2010 season, so that's nice.

And 6 out of 8 ranked Manning higher.

It's not that weird considering Brady has had two huge season that were significantly better than his others.

EDIT: Also, if you pull Manning's rookie season his average is higher than Brady in both categories. Brady got the advantage of a year to learn the NFL game behind a pretty good QB. Manning got thrown right in the fire.

Before Brady put together another Top 5 All-Time season. Those same people would say Brady's better now. AND IT STILL WOULDN'T MATTER, BECAUSE THEY'RE SUBJECTIVE.

Charming. Now what about:

1. the quality and cost of the offensive players at Brady's disposal between 2001-2006 inclusive vs. Manning? Manning's reliance on this quality can be seen when Faulk was hurt in '01 and Manning's stats went in the toilet as did the team's records.

2. Manning's advantage in the Dome (and a warmer weather conference with another Dome in it)?

3. What about results of both QB's? Relative to salary? How about Manning's nasty playoff records, and games under a 70 QB Rating? His tossing his OL under the bus?

4. Funny but the overall career regular season QB Rating favors Brady at this
time. What about that?

Maybe they would, maybe they wouldn't.

You put a Jason Whitlock column in there?

You're more clueless on this than I thought.

And Manning is 1-10 in season ending playoff games, and Brady is 3-5 - care to expound? Do leave room to explain Manning's melt downs in the game (see the < 70 QB Rating games for Manning), and post game.

Yeah, that's like asking people to rate, say, Dirk Nowitzki before this season and now.

In two of his last three years, and since he got something resembling weapons like Manning has had for his entire career. And he plays outdoors in the Northeast. Here we are again. You're just ignoring it.

I know they would, because everyone's saying it now.

As Manning starts breaking down (and eventually retiring) people will start devaluing him as a player. As long as Brady stays consistent, it will make the argument for him even stronger.

1.) How about Brady's reliance on Moss in '07? How about the additional wins and SBs the Patriots have gotten (and that are "credited" to Brady) because the Patriots didn't spend big money on offense? Why don't we discount all those additional wins and SBs because the Patriots have a better front office.

2.) How about we make a mountain of a mole hill?

3.) Not a factor. Who cares about his salary? Do you know what Montana and Marino's relative salaries were? Me neither.

4.) How about read above. Manning has a better rating minus his rookie season.

Yeah, the Patriots are a better team than the Colts.

Post 6-7 links to all time ratings since the end of last season.

Brady is better in those categories. Eventhough Manning has played with 23 pro-bowlers at wr, te, and rb to Brady's 5, Brady still has the better career passer rating and career adjusted yards/pass attempt.

You didn't watch 2010. Manning played poorly, to say the least

Re: FINALLY someone national brings up playing conditions regarding Brady and Manning

Yeah, the Patriots are a better team than the Colts.

Not surprising. The Patriots have the best quarterback.

In reverse order:

4) Let's drop Brady's worst season, too.

3) Agreed.

2) The fact that you can't comprehend the difference is all I really need to know.

1) "Reliance on Moss?" He threw more TDs to non-Mosses than 23 other QBs threw in total.

Post 6-7 links to all time ratings since the end of last season.

Why would I bother? I don't put any stock in them, even if they favor my guy.
