Fellow Players Slam Mankins

Kind of hard to suggest that "trickle down" works in the NFL when over half of the players are paid the league minimum.

Trickle down doesn't work anywhere. Just ask Reagan's budget director David Stockman. Some canards simply will not die.

I don't get it. It's somehow a big deal to attach your name to a lawsuit? Why? It seems to me that if doing nothing but putting your name on a lawsuit gives you big bucks or exclusive privileges that every guy in the NFL would have done this.

I heard that Mankins got his name attached to the lawsuit after the initial filing. If so, it appears the real motivation for this was to simply get something extra that other players weren't getting.

No, what we have here is a player with common sense (but not enough tact) blasting other players that are trying to bend the rules in their favor while every other union member has to play within the rules. And for what? Nothing other than having their name put down on a piece of paper.

As has been pointed out, there's a big difference between winning a lawsuit that takes (6) years and then negotiating a settlement and just filing a lawsuit. Lawsuits are filed every day; very few of them win. It was clear when this lawsuit was filed that the chances of this lawsuit being decided in a court of law was in the low single digits. It was just a negotiating tactic and the names on the lawsuit were next to irrelevant.

*** except in German porn.

Where does this come from? You're not the first to insult Pats fans this way, but it has no basis in fact.

Some players who left weren't highly spoken of when they left, not because they left, but because they were dinks. We tried to overlook their dinkhood while they were here, that's all. cough cough moss cough

But this idea that Pats fans crap on all players after they leave is just bogus crap from stir-the-potters.

Who called Cassel a douche? People talk about Bledoe's INTs at critical times, but no one ever called him anything but a stand-up guy. Because he was and is. Chris Slade. Dan Klecko. Givens left and is highly respected. Willie, too. O.T.I.S. David Patten. The list of players who left and are respected is much larger than the few who left and aren''t respected.

Law and Milloy acted like dinks when they left, and are regarded as dinks. Again, not because they left but because they acted like dinks.

This was an extraordinary post, chock full of excellent points.

Indeed, you may've broken New Ground with this "dinkhood" bit. :D

But you're Dead Wrong on 2 points.

Lawyer Milloy is neither considered a dink by ANY just man...Nor IS he a dink in any way, shape or form, thank you very much.

Lawyer Milloy has the heart of a LION.

He played for us with SINGULAR Passion and Intensity.

It was and IS a privilege to root for him, in whatever walk of life he pursues.
