Everyone's thoughts on ONLY the defense...

Yes, and no. Guyton will be fine at MLB. The problem is, moving Guyton inside leaves a one dimensional player on the outside.

I don't believe that Guyton will be fine, at all. He showed on Monday why he went undrafted; heck, Bill chose Lil' Bo Not a Peep Ruud instead of him.

Can we give guyton a few more weeks of practice with the first unit before we bury him? ****, I expect him to be better this week. At least we have all week this time, and not one second, to get Guyton ready for the task ahead. I know he isn't a world beater but he was thrown into the fray.

I will make the following observation: Everyone's concern in the off season was the Patriot's lack of a pass rush.

Were it not for two refs calls against two sacks recorded by Wilfork and AD, the Patriots Defense records 6, six, one more than 5, and one less than 7, SIX sacks in their opening game.

What missing pass rush??

That's a good point. They've added talent there and schemes to give their tackles some shots. I'm happy they got Burgess and I've tried to avert my eyes from ILB cause I'm always *****in about lack of depth at linebacker.

I'm hoping for the best. Does our lack of versatile LBs/pass rush specialist mean other teams will no huddle us so we can't substitute?

I really don't know anymore what personnel we need at LB, be it 3-4 or 4-3. Seems to me finding one more guy to work in will help us for when Mayo's healthy. We'll see in the meantime.

yea, until it came to cutting time...at which point he chose guyton...

you cant take all pro players out like seymour and mayo and think the D will not miss a beat

wilfork did not look the same whit out seymour next to him and guyton did not look the same with out mayo next to him

AD has not been the same player with the pats as he was with baltimore be cause the ravens had 3 more all pro LB playing next to him

great players make average players look good

Do you realise how well AD played in 2007 and how well he was playing until he injured his arm last season?

2007 he had 78 tackels and 6.5 sacks and 1 INT

in 2008 he had 34 tackels and 5 sacks in 9 games

is that good yes buts its a far cry from the 11 sacks and 90 tackels he had with the ravens in 2006

my point is not that AD is a bad player right now with mayo out hes our best LB

my point is there will be a drop off when u take players out

how can u stop AD from geting 11 sacks when Ray Lewis Bart Scott and Terrell Suggs are playing next to him the 2006 ravens had 60 sacks

how can you double team wilfork on ever play with seymour playing next to him

how can you stop guyton from stoping the RB for only a 2 yerds when mayo is about to get him in the back field

when u take players out the next guy in line will not look the same because now teams are stoping you and not them

And what part of that have you considered that his role was drastically different to that of the Ravens?

yes he played a lot more ILB with the pats then he ever did with the ravens and the pats dont blitz as much as the ravens do

but dont you think the the whole D would have looked a lot better if mayo played the whole game and we did not trade seymour

when you take player out it make the whole team look bad not just AD

and now with mayo out AD may have to move back to ILB

Of course the defense would be better if Mayo and Seymour were playing, but they weren't so we have to deal with it and work out how to cover their losses moving forward.

Regarding AD, I'm glad you acknowledged that.

dude you live in Australia how do you watch the games ?

Very very early morning rises for me and NFL.com Gamepass mate... or if I am lucky, the night games are early morning games here on sports television channels.

60 sacks? Damn, that's impressive.

If McNair didn't deteriorate into Lord Farvequad before our eyes, Baltimore should've easily defeated the Dolts in the POs that year.
