Every year a surprise team makes the SB--Which one will it be?

The Colts are not finished, but their offense is in the beginning stages of decline. With this being said, 11-5 should be well within reach. I think the 14-2 days are long gone. For the past two years, Manning has lacked that stud receiver lining up opposite side of Reggie Wayne. Marvin Harrison was a disaster the last two seasons--he simply hung around, picked up extra money and made it difficult for the Colts to draft a stud WR. Gonzalez might thrive as a system receiver, but he is not going to put up Reggie Wayne/young Marvin Harrison numbers. It kind of reminds me of the Red Sox offense when they lost Manny.

I think the defense is solid and relatively young. The sack specialists are the cornerstone to that defense and are still in their prime. The secondary is talented, yet health is a huge issue. Bethea broke his hand and Bob Sanders has just recently consulted Dr. James Andrews.

The Pats are definitely the better team right now. The only team that should beat the Pats this year is themselves. The Colts don't scare me like they did in years past. I thought the 2007 Colts were the best team in the NFL, as many including myself think they were good enough to achieve a perfect season had they got by NE in that Week 9 game. The 2007 NE team had the best offense ever, but they lacked the defense to be the best team. The Pats are loaded this year from top to bottom---the subtle yet effective additions of Burgess and Bodden really make me think this is the best Patriots team ever.

Colts...maybe not a surprise, but under the radar on this homer board

Probrably why they're not mentioned then....

Don't know man, first team that popped into my head though were the Vikings as I was impressed a few times last season. The Falcons could have a good year if they keep the offence up, especially with the addition of Gonzalez. I don't think theres a surprise team from the AFC this year.

I would define quoting my post after evidently not reading it and then going on to misrepresent its carefully and clearly stated content (i.e., while a big Pats fan, I specifically challenged those who called the Colts a "surprise") as fulfilling the criteria for "spouts nonsense." In return, you got "a response." So, you spouted nonsense for a response. To me that qualifies as "one single example."............. See ya!

Maybe if you'd pull that stick out and realize this is a sports board you'd feel better?

I didn't realize pointing out that the odds on winning the SB are not based on the strength of the teams but on which teams are getting the most action betting wise was trolling.
