The defense and antwoine smith power running game (spelling?) was the key to the patriots in 02 and they beat the rams in the superbowl.

So can defense and an improved maroney and morris take the pats into the playoffs and win another superbowl?

Maroney looked good when he was running with the ball, avg like +5yard per carry. That one carry where he tooked it to the right side of the field and then when to the left side for the big gain, looked like very good.

Maroney should have a lot of strength and energy due to the fact the patriots didnt even use him that much last year.

we can all be +ve but we are all undervalueing brady here...he was the QB who didnt make dumb mistakes and won us games. cassell had one game where he filled in for brady.now he knows he IS the starter , lets see how he fares.Oh
and the competition is quite different now and our D isnt like the baltimore defense .
