Reiss said he had missed a number of meetings, been fined and subsequently playing time cut because. Apparantly, the message never resonated so he needed a little more of a severe reminder if how to act like a professional and not a student.
Ideally it transpired like this:
Wilfork and maybe Warren have been in contact with Deaderick. They have been telling him to smarten up(in so many words). Deaderick has been receptive to this, looking to get back on the field and show he has his head straight. When Wright went to IR, Wilfork went to BB and said Deaderick is ready to play it right. BB, being the pragmatist he is, gives Deaderick the chance to show he is ready to go (and helps the DL situation).
Hopefully this is about Deaderick doing the right thing after the suspension and not due to depleted DL desperation.
I think you are right with a wake up call.Or maybe it was a wake up call to the kid. We don't know we can only speculate. This move certainly helps depth, although not a difference maker Deadrick has experience in the 3-4, can hold the point and contain.
Thats a nice rosy story you've got there. But, correct me if I am wrong, it is based solely on your unsubstantiated guess at what goes on in the organization or any fact whatsoever.I think you are spot-on with this.
BB will only step in and execute on disciplinary matters when necessary. Thats the way he works the locker room. He leaves it to the veteran leaders to deliver the message (accountability to the team, etc) and execute on matters that can be resolved in a "Kangaroo Court". His positional coaches and coordinators are responsible for making sure the players are attending meetings, learning the game plans, etc but also can fine players for missed meetings, etc. If the player still has a problem, then BB will be the one to come down with the hammer as now the issue becomes a roster-related matter and BB is ultimately responsible for the roster.
My take is that veterans like Vince & Gerard and Pepper tried to get through to Deaderick and the kid's head got big as he was playing a decent amount. He skipped a bunch of meetings. Vince fined him. Pepper fined him. Finally the team had enough.
I don't think his discretions were as serious as what Willie Andrews did or even ADs little temper tantrums so to speak. The kid just needs a firm hand and direction. He did have some off the field issues at U of A (got shot, etc.) but by all accounts is a good kid. Just not mature yet in the judgement department.

I dont doubt that some of those things happen. But your post describes the inner workings and chain of command structure and implies BB defers responsiblity and lets players tell him to lift a suspension.Heard Willie Mac talk about it on Best Damn Sports Show Period one time and Demarco Farr was on as well and said that the Rams did the same thing (ex- Miss open tackles on 3rd and 2, you get fined. ). I remember reading (I think the ProJo???) when AD threw his fit on Patricia last year, it was Patricia who fined him for missing the meeting, he threw a fit and BB sent him home.

I just think you are taking a few incidents and creating an analsysis of the inner working of the team from it, which is a huge stretch.
When Wright went on IR this move immediately came to mind.
Well played by you and ausbacker.God, I hate posts like this. Why are you so obtuse?
Hopefully Deaderick's suspension experience was a tunnel of waste and now that he is on the other side, he can contribute to and celebrate in the rain of success that will be the post-season.
