The cameras stayed on Rivers for quite a while. If a Patriot did what Rivers did, that player would not see a great deal of game time....totally undisciplined stuff...hollering and taunting the Broncos and in particular Phil Rivers.

You mean like Welker spiking the ball and yelling 'You ******* suck' at a Colt defender? Or Brady rushing to get in Anthony Smith's face after a TD to Moss? Or Belichick publicly insulting a player? Or Rodney Harrison running over to get in an opposing coach's face after an INT? Or Tedy Bruschi asking 'What rule will they change now?' after beating the Colts in the playoffs?

Yeah stuff like that would never happen on the Patriots.

Some of you guys live in a dream world. LT is an idiot for what he said primarily because one of the hallmarks of a classy person is that they don't label themselves as such when making a statement, not to mention that celebratory dances are obnoxious whether they are done by the originator or in mocking so getting all upset about that was just plain childish. But the Patriots do as much trash talking as anyone in this league and it's high time a lot of you got over your delusions that somehow the Patriots are paragons of virtue. It's irritating enough when Colts fans do it.

Who even knows what transpired during that game before the hand-waving and trash talking we got to see? We'll never know but drawing conclusions based on just one scene in a heated football game between division rivals is ill-advised.

well i do know that i've never seen a patriot getting busted for selling "purple drank" ,a narcotic, over the internet or another pats player getting shot and ending his career because he was so drunk. lady tomlinson should worry about his own teams class.

Get over it, I love this team but we drafted Brandon Stomps-a-lot Meriweather and have at least one player who used HGH. The Patriots aren't freaking choir boys and the sooner you get that through your heads the sooner you'll save yourselves a lot of angst when one of the people you've foolishly put up on a pedestal does something that will let you down.

But that's not the point of this thread is it? The point of this thread is to call out the Chargers for trash-talking a division rival. My response is to say that this sort of stuff goes on all the time and without knowing what precipitated it it is foolish to draw any conclusions.

The only people who don't think LT was being a tremendous crybaby last year are LT fanboys and people who just want to agree with him because they hate seeing the Patriots win all the time. That's not what is up for debate in this thread.

Oh yes we always chat about Merriman and his roids, maybe your local media does but we all know Rodney used HGH and Merriman used roids. Both admitted they did wrong, both served the time, move on, we all have. Merriman doing his dance isn't what people are mocking here, it's people getting pissy about it being mocked. If somebody does mock a dance after they beat you, you use it as fuel next time, you don't send out the greatest RB of the current era of the NFL to literally cry and proclaim himself as the judge of who is and is not classy. TO mocked spygate with a TD dance and you didn't see one peep from the pats, not because it makes them classier but b/c every team would do the same damn thing. Tom Hanks says there's no crying in baseball, well there sure isn't any in football, hobbs didn't kill LT's dog, he overreacted big time. If you wanna go with Brady examples that's cool, you can do it with the bling brady has, and if you're trying to talk about the steelers game, it was about the guarantee and u know it....... reminds me of a certain RB saying that the chargers would beat us 9 out of 10 times, but we've beat them the last 2 times.... hmm..

I like that they are lively and cause controversy, BUT if they lose they will not be complaining about people taunting dances and instead be looking at what they failed at DURING THE GAME. Unlike the chargers, the pats will shut up and admit they were outplayed when they are outplayed (See: AFC championship loss last year)

LT is a classless player because he not only named himself the judge of class in the NFL, but also brought the coach into question when the coach had nothing to do with the celebration. Should marty have kept Merriman from sending his Lights out T-shirt and popcorn to Jason Taylor so he could watch the game in an obvious taunting (btw, he had one ready for Brady if they beat the pats last year)? I may not like the colts but what you can say is that Marvin Harrison is classy, Dunn from the falcons is classy, Tony Gonzalez from KC is classy. They keep their mouths shut, do their job, and do things for the community without the attention. That's true classiness, and LT lost the admiration of many people for his reaction that day, it came off as a five year old running and telling the teacher that somebody teased them. LT needs to learn nobody is perfect, especially LT.

So before you say we're always the victim, look at your team acting like the victim, b/c LT is the best at it. He's one of the greatest RB's to EVER play the game, and that's a large compliment, but he could use a big serving of humble pie

You're wrong about that. The head coach has a lot to do with how you act when you win. Players will act how their head coach tells them unless they are just loose cannons. Anyone who ever watched the Spurs knock out the Lakers on the Lakers home floor after the Lakers had won three championships in a row remembers the camera in the huddle with the Spurs coach telling his players in the last couple minutes that they will win with class. He demanded it. No player dared defy that directive. People could learn a lot about how to win with grace from the San Antonio Spurs and their head coach.

Well, at least the pats don't complain that the other teams players are classless or go crying to the league and have the "stacked" competition comittee come out with some stupid "rules emphasis" in order to explain away a loss in a playoff game and help the team gain an advantage in the future.

Can you imagine what Phillip "cry me a" Rivers or Dandelion Tomlinson would have done if they were on the end of a Denver a.s.s whooping with Shannon Sharp on the sideline on the telephone calling in the national guard in front fo the cameras or flexing his muscles in body building poses to taunt their sideline?

The Charges are a bunch of whining hypocritical douchebags who cannot possibly be compared to the Patriots in any way. Keep celebrating after ever meaningless play and taunting hopeless teams, because that's all you'll have to hang your hat on when this season is done.
