Chris Price: Bengals O-line high on Brace

Isn't it the other way around? Warren is stout. Pryor isn't so stout, but is very fast.

eh, I see them both as pass rushers honestly. Pryor is good at getting the interior rush going. A pleasant surprise last year, and he looks like he's improving too. Still can't play the run or hold the ends though.

G. Warren is a pass rush guy too, who at least has the experience to back up multiple positions. If we draft well I dont see him around next year... keeping a guy making his salary buried in the depth chart would be silly.

C'mon, we all know Brace is a

Hey neighbor!

Here it is...

RT @NateHaber: After last week's game, several Bengals O-linemen said client Ron Brace can be one of the best with continued hard work.

FWIW, I remember a similar quote from Jim Nantz last year during the beatdown of the Titans.

He was talking about the pregame interviews they do; when they met with Titans DE Kyle Van Den Bosch, he was praising Vollmer—and that was before the Sea Beast's first start.

He's only slightly above league minimum for a vet his age. Damione Lewis had a bigger contract . And that may have contributed to his not making it, although Mo Pryor's play probably had more to do with it.

BFI!

Ohhhh... reading the title I thought Brace was a new drug of some sort :)

A commie? You're accusing Brace of being a Commie?

Do you know how hard it was to find a "bust" that was "made of glass"? He was becoming our next Maroney there for a while this preseason.

coulda at least gotten a sexy woman or something...

Always nice to hear compliments from other players on opposing teams about one of our guys. I hope Brace gets healthy in a hurry. He could really offset our issues at DE this season.

Both are supposedly pass rush specialists for their size. The difference is that Pryor was getting into the backfield this past weekend while Warren was not.

I remember some interviews on ESPN with him prior to the 09 draft. Mel Kiper had him on a couple of times. Seemed like a real level-headed kid. And, hard working. That's what surprised me about the conditioning issues. I give NFL rookies a mulligan when they struggle. It's almost a different sport than they've been playing in college.

He certainly has the physique to be a good 2-gap player. I'm getting ahead of myself. But, if he improves as the year goes and we draft a 2-gap de with our top pick. Ty Warren might be teammates with Richard Seymour again.

So is it safe to assume that Brace will inherit the "Reche Caldwell Most Polarizing Player on the Patriots Roster" Award from Laurence Maroney?

He's the heir apparent. Especially since he plays 3-4 defensive end where people tend to overrate stats to determine performance (see all the people who thought Richard Seymour was overrated).

That's alotta beef on the hoof along the D Line...

Brace..Wilfork...Warren

Not even close I don't think. Up until now, Brace had done absolutely nothing and was justifiably the target of negative comments.

Late this pre-season he has started to perform damn well and if he keeps it up will win over fans in a pretty quick fashion. The key point is he has to keep it up and play hard, stay injury free, and be productive. Not easy, but if he shows good progress, the fans will buy into him.

Can't wait to hear what great things his agent has to say about him after each game
