Anyone think the Pats will bring in Baker for a look? We need to upgrade at TE and I've always thought Baker looked pretty good. He's shown me more reliable hands in traffic then Watson has.

Re: Chris Baker cut

Both of them had lower production in 2008 than 2007, but...

Chris Baker (w/ Pro-Bowler Brett Favre): 21 receptions, 194 yards (9.2 avg), 0 TD's

Ben Watson (w/ a High School QB): 22 receptions, 209 yards (9.5 avg), 2 TD's

No thanks. Draft a TE or take an FA if we want to replace Wendy. Watson's production will very likely go back up this year and he is a very good (and still improving) blocker.

BTW, which year was it that he impressed you more than Watson?

Yeah drafting good blocking TE later on would be ideal and keep Watson...

Re: Chris Baker cut

Lets just get Pettigrew. I read a few things about him and like what I read.

Note: I only want to do this if we get an extra one for Cassel and we get take care of Safety whether that is Rodney back and something small or a Replacement for Rodney.

I think DB is the biggest need and until there is a starter opposite Merriweather more specifically safety.

After DB though I think TE is the next biggest weakness (I swithed the term to weakness here because TE is low on the need list IMO just on position value meaning FB than TE are the positions of least importance)

I think he's make a solid #2/3 option. He's not looking for starter money, is he?
