The next morning, I still can't get the phrase "meat packing plant" out of my head whenever I think of the Belcher incident.
See watcha did, Deus? For the rest of my life, every time I watch a Chiefs game, the image "meat packing plant" will flash in my mind. It's a truly bizarre correlation. Thanks for that. I'll break into a smile of amused disbelief every single time.
Yes, you're reply to that poster's question was indeed informative, timely, relevant, etc. etc. It was all of those things.
You missed an added underlying element. It's called context.
The whole premise behind the humor on the show "Big Bang Theory" is based on it. The guys on that show reply to other people's queries with knowledgeable, informed, timely, & relevant answers. The humor is in their not taking context into consideration. Indeed, they often do give knowledge-filled replies. Problem is, they're voiced in the wrong social gatherings for such.
And that's where the phrase "meat packing plant" gains it's hilarity. In the future, whenever the blimp's camera is flying over the red glory of massive Arrowhead Stadium, I'll always have the image of some meat packing plant in my mind. The two places are on opposite ends of the social spectrum.
Deus, it's hilarious you felt the need to answer that other poster's question after you found out the answer was a freaking meat packing plant. There's your error in regards to context.
Well, I dunno, but is a guy with a whopping 32 thousand posts on a football board (of all places) oblivious to context in the first place? That wouldn't be a poor bet by any measure.
And then ya got Da Bruinz running around this thread like he's the site's self appointed ethics expert & grief counselor. Pontificating about "Murder & Suicide: When Or Where It Is Or Isn't Appropriate, & For Whom & Why".
Spare me.
52 thousand posts between the two of you.
Whatever. Ban me. I couldn't care less.
