They're saying it's a murder suicide. Player shot his girlfriend at home then went to the stadium and shot himself.

OT: Breaking News---- Shots fired at KC Chiefs facility

An unnamed Chiefs player supposedly opened fire at the Chiefs facility this morning. The player has apparently killed his Girlfriend and then turned the gun on himself..

    This was tweeted from NEPatriotsDraft...

A post from the comment section of the article thinks the player is a linebacker named Belcher who committed suicide after a confrontation with a female.
Shame, hopefully not many hurt in this tragedy.

Jovan Belcher, UDFA and seems to have been a decent player for the Chiefs!

I hope I am reading the last sentence of the intro wrong!

What a terrible tragedy....heard about it on my way home.

He killed himself at the Chiefs' practice facility apparently. Who else was there to see it, I wonder?

Depends on exactly when he did it and exactly where the facility is located.

    Nevertheless, how awful. :(

Rumor is he shot himself in front of RAC and Scott who were trying to talk him down. If it is Belcher he left behind a two and a half month old child... Happened around 8AM so likely most of the team and staff were in the facility at the time. Horrendous all around.

Incredibly tragic. I feel awful for the child left behind, his family and friends and teammates. Just awful....

The game tomorrow is of secondary importance but it will be interesting to see how the team and league reacts to this tragedy as I don't think this kind of horrific event has occured at a team facility before.

Not sure what the right thing to do is here. Maybe there isn't a wrong thing...?

Roger G has told the Panthers to travel as planned!

If players and coaches watch him, how many do you think will be ready to play?

No names but the KC Star is confirming that "coaches" met the player in the parking lot and witnessed the suicide. I assume they had received a warning call from the police who were on their way to the facility in search of him.

    Rumors are Pioli and Crennel

Belcher lost his starting job last game vs Denver. He started all 10 games prior.

Neither KC nor Carolina are in the playoff hunt.... postponing it wouldn't be so bad. But what else to expect from the Omissioner Jetdell. Classless.
