Tom Brady restructured contract to bring in Randy Moss

Just reported today that the ONLY way we were able to sign Randy Moss per cap space dollars was that Tom Brady had to restructure his contract in an effort for us to have signed Moss.

I don't know how many QBs in the game would have restructured thier contract for simply getting a player to help us win more often.

Tom is truly a Patriot and not a money grabber or an 'its all about me' guy like Samuel,Asante needs to watch what his fellow players are doing to keep the team on top.

No details of Brady's restructured contract were available at the time of the report.

Actually, that was reported late last night, I saw it around 0100 on the Globe... It's already been posted on here also, maybe already on the 2nd page.. Thanks though...

The timing of a guaranteed sum isn't necessarily neutral. By delaying a guaranteed fixed sum, not only does the real value of the amount decline by more (since it is subject to a longer period of inflation - i.e. it has less purchasing power in the future rather than now) but relatedly, it negates the ability for it to be invested in some way to gain a higher return, or to be spent now in accordance with Brady's preferences.

The elimination of risk is obviously a counter effect, but this is a very small effect in Brady's case - he's very unlikely to be going anywhere after all.

It's not necessarily significant, but being flexible in this way isn't necessarily neutral either. Of course, in converting future money into current signing bonus Brady actually does better than he would of done otherwise - so it's a win win win.

Alll the more reason to not give credit to the player since he is getting his money earlier (not delaying, as you suggest at first) such that it can be invested. If anything the player is getting more money in the long run.

Good thing Tom has Don Yee as his agent and not Gisele's.

May 1, 2007 -- GISELE Bundchen no longer wears Victoria's Secret. The Brazilian mannequin is giving up her wings as lead angel for the lingerie giant because it wouldn't up her $5 million-a-year salary. Her sister, Patricia Bundchen, confirmed to Brazilian Web site Glamurana that contract talks had broken off. "Her demands were outrageous. She got a new lawyer who was unrealistic," said a source. "Victoria's Secret doesn't care. They have five new hotter, younger girls debuting next year. And they won't have to deal with any craziness." Reps for Bundchen didn't return e-mails. A rep for Victoria's Secret declined comment.

We can only hope that Brady is not reading this thread. Talk about major distraction.

Oh, you can't trust the NY Post... here's what they're not telling you...

May 1, 2007 -- GISELE Bundchen reportedly took a pay cut from $9.75M per year to $3M per year, with $2M additional possible through feature spread and television commercial incentives, to model for Fredericks of Hollywood, it was disclosed today. Bundchen, who has spent the last two seasons with Victoria's Secret, was attracted by Fredericks' "team first" attitude. It's been widely noted that even though the Fredericks' models are some of the finest talent in the business, none of them are known by name, while Victoria's Secret models names have become household words. When asked about the deal, Bundchen's agent said "Gisele has plenty of money. Right now she cares about one thing, and that's winning a Lingerie Bowl." Fredericks' Runway Coach Phil Pelichick said, "You know, we're very excited, we've been, you know, for a long time we've been talking with her, and she brings some things, some things she can do. We could do some things before, hopefully you're never giving up on those, on those things, and we had those things, that we could do before. But now we have more things we can do, and any time, when you can do more things, that's going to help you win."
