Re: Albert Brees on Adalius Thomas . . .

Wow!!! That would be a huge addition.

With Colvin possibly coming back the pass rush may get better down the stretch.

Hopefully it's not too little too late. I'll let a small part of myself be cautiously optimistic that a Colvin/AD combo heading into the playoff stretch gives the D the spark & pass rush it needs to raise its play to championship level.

I'm sure there is some sort of Transformers effect this could have on the D.

    Colvinthomastron sounds about right.

Re: Albert Brees on Adalius Thomas . . .

That would be awesome. If the Pats somehow make the playoffs, the defense obviously has to be a lot better than it is now for them to last long ...

Shouldn't be, if we can win these two seemingly easy games @ Seattle and Oakland. If The Jest and Baltimore can each lose one of their next two we'd only be behind for the division and wildcard by tiebreakers. With our schedule we're right in this thing - but there's no margin for error.

Nice. We can probably make as good a run as any team in the AFC if we have a healthy AD back.

Have suspected all along that he would be back, BB is not going to tie up a roster spot for no reason..

    Playoffs? Whatcha talkin' 'bout "playoffs?!?"

They're gonna have to back in, with or without AD and Colvin.

Needing help does not equal backing in. 9-7 would be backing in. 10-6 wouldn't.

Not in the AFC this year. They're going to need a lot of help from either the Jets or Ravens.

If they win out to go 11-5, past history says that they'll be in.

I think 10-6 will get them in. Regardless, I don't get your argument. You talk about "backing in" then, correctly, suggest the AFC is tough to make the playoffs this year. Denver will be backing in. If we make it we won't be because we'll be 11-5 or 10-6.

I still say 10-6 does it, I think Baltimore has 3 losses in them with their schedule. Regardless, 10-6 with no Brady would be a heck of a season.

Re: Albert Brees on Adalius Thomas . . .

Sure, I guess it depends on your definition of "backing in." But losing critical games is not a prescription for making the playoffs.

If Thomas comes back and we get Colvin, we could have a pretty good front seven down the stretch. Vrabel could spell in for any of the four linebackers, especially Bruschi. If Colvin plays well, the Pats could be dominant again.

Re: Albert Brees on Adalius Thomas . . .

Backing in is, by definition, going in with either a losing streak or a losing record. Cause you are, you know, going backwards.

You don't back in at 11-5 having won your final four games.

By your definition basically every wildcard is backing in.
