I thought in the interest of FRAME and the other efforts to combat the biased media coverage of spygate, we could tally up all of the inconsistencies and lies in Matt Walsh's stories.

Feel free to add on, b/c there are plenty out there. I'm going to start with a couple I see as important:

LIE: Walsh claimed he taped the walkthrough
We know now that this Matt Walsh taping the walkthrough rumor has been around for at least two years. Bill Belichick revealed in his CBS interview, that Walsh himself started the rumor. Obviously, we now know Walsh was lying, and this may be his biggest lie.

The only possible motive for lying here is to hurt or undermine the Patriots, and this is the first of many examples of Walsh trying to do just that.

However, Walsh's lies about the walkthrough don't stop there.

LIE: Walsh told Brian Daboll about what he gathered from seeing the walkthrough.

Daboll has said this is false, the league appears to be on his side.

INCONSISTENCY/LIE: Walsh's recollection of the walkthrough do not match up...
...with what Warner stated the Rams practiced that day. Warner - and I believe Martz supported this as well - remembered practicing goal-line situations. Walsh made no mention of this in his recollection of the walkthrough. Perhaps Martz is right - Walsh is no scout and did not have the football IQ to gather anything from what he was watching anyway.

INCONSISTENCY: Walsh claims he was in Patriot attire for the walkthrough
    Mike Martz doesn't buy it.

LIE: Walsh's signal taping information went from Adams to Weis to the QB
Belichick thinks its absurd that Walsh would even talk about game-planning and play-calling. Both Brady (on WEEI) and Bledsoe (Herald article, can't find link) have stated that they were not fed information regarding the defensive play through the headset.

INCONSISTENCY: Walsh claims they knew 75% of the plays of the opponents because of taping the signals
Randy Cross recently stated on Peter King's radio show that most teams are able to identify the defense at least that percentage of the time from preparation of the game regardless of signals. Scouts Inc. detailed explanation of how the signals would be used reinforced that they are just one piece in a larger puzzle of scouting and preparing for a game.

LIE: Walsh was taping these things covertly
Belichick points out that this information is available to anyone in the stadium, and that all teams scout the signals anyway. He states he never told Walsh to tape surreptitiously and has video showing Walsh taping in Patriots attire.

Again, feel free to add on more. I know there are plenty regarding his resume and things in the past, that's fine, too. If we get enough, I'd like to send out to local media members and people like Florio. As much as I want spygate to be over and done, now that BB has gone on the offensive against Walsh, I think as fans we should try to do whatever we can to clear up the misinformation out there.

The list of Walsh lies wouldn't be complete without his resume, which includes the dates he worked for the Patriots and his over stating what his job entailed.

Goodell asked him "Is there anything else we should ask? Is there anything else we should know?" and then a few hours later tells Specter additional stories, like the unnamed offensive player telling him how helpful his tape was, etc. Well, right there he either lied to Goodell or made up the story and lied to Specter. Same holds true for most of the information he disclosed in the new york times interview and the hbo interview, in particular the parts about being told to be evasive.

As another poster said in another thread...you really are stupid, aren't you?

Have you looked at the rule? Have you seen BB's reasoning? The man didn't suddenly wake up stupid one day. If he was doing it, he believed he was doing something that wasn't against the rules.

Goodell doesn't have the gut to tell Walsh to STFU because of Specter. It is the reason we see this fool runing around and spreading rumors FREELY without being challenged.

with your wisdom, what the hell did you expect Goodell to say.? He should believe everything BB said because BB is the best NFL coach and SAID SO.? Therefore, the case was close and there was no futher inquiry or investigation.???? Come on, man.!

If you are a Pats fan maybe you could learn to spell BB's name correctly. In any case, I think you have some issues as seen here: http://www.quizilla.com/user_images/S/StageNinja007/1040772748_sBrady-Jan.jpg

You are not a Patriots fan.

No Patriot fan (amongst the thousands I've met) has EVER used the familiar "Mike" when talking about the dog killer.

Stop embarassing yourself...your posts fairly SCREAM OUT hater Rat fan.

Yes good point Jan. Brutally killing dogs and shooting people are just as bad as taping signals.

I just scouted out your 39 posts. 98% are negative against the Patriots or the fan base. Even the most Dour fans among us aren't that consistently negative. There are enough D-dag trollers from others teams that grace this pages, so just come clear.

You look like more of douche trying to be a "wolf in sheep's clothing" then just coming out and telling us you are a Giant's fan and dealing with us above board.

Yeah, you're a 30 year pats fan and I'm a 30 year state senator. Please go away troll, your "oh how Belichick has hurt me" horsesh!t is getting tired. If who you root for is so important to your self-image, I'd suggest being a Colts fan, I hear they're squeaky clean. Goodell not believing BB is irrelevant, I believe him, as does the majority of Pats nation, so suck it. By the way, any fan would learn how to spell the coach's name after they'd been corrected repeatedly.

Horsesh!t, objective fans would take the time to listen to their coach's full interview before spewing venom about his retirement because he hurt your feelings. Objective fans wouldn't inherently believe Goodell over BB just because he's Goodell, and you've made it abundantly clear in almost every one of your posts that you believe just that.

Back to the thread. I grabed this quote from Reiss article about walsh's HBO interview.

"All that I know is the success rate that it had for the first game against Tampa Bay, and all I know is that it was something that they continued to have me do throughout the two years I worked in video under Coach Belichick,"

He worked under Jimmy Dee not BB. He's continuing to try to establish a close relationship with BB that's just not there.
