Shattered by Tom Brady anyone?
A bit optimistic?
I think the pats will still try to be a balanced team.
Not me. The Pats are a balanced team. Run up a good lead, let the defense do their job (I've heard we might actually have a good defense this season!) and handoff to the RB to run out the clock and win the game.
If Brady needs to strap the team on his back and win by breaking the TD record we're going to finish that season the same way Manning did when he set the record.
Who cares? Did those 49 TD passes get Manning a Lombardi?
The most he's ever thrown is 28. I don't think Stallworth and Welker are going to make that total double. Funny thread man.
Even with a mediocre defense, Manning had to pass A LOT in garbage time to get 49. No way Belichick or Brady resort to stat-padding.
Peyton's career high was only 33 for he broke the record.
Yeah I hate the way the Colts do that. Very annoying and low class if you ask me.
With Jerry Rice and Michael Irvin in their prime if teamed up with Brady this year he would not have even 40 TD passes with those guys..We are not that kind of one dimentional team..Get real dude
I'd like to see Brady have a 30-TD season before he retires, I'll admit.
I don't know.....if you peruse some of the threads here, you will find that various posters do think they will have that big of an impact!
Not only do some of these posters think those guys will have a big impact on the offense, but I hear those same guys called patriots pro shop to order their Super Bowl 42 championship merchandise already
ok, 49 is a stretch....
does he get 4500 yards passing?
I hope your expectations are not that high.
A.) Stallworth/Welker/Caldwell are still nowhere near Harrison/Wayne/Stokley
B.) The Pats are a balanced team
C.) Tom Brady will not be throwing 6 TD passes against the Detroit Lions.
D.) Pats are all about winning, not stats (er, unless you are V.Testeverded getting a TD pass in 20 straight seasons)
E.) Brady is not skilled enough to pass for 49 TDs
What Stallworth and Welker potentially provide are receivers who can compensate for Brady's recent tendency to make poor throws.
I just like threads that are prone to get flamed that I might get a chance to bump down the road and laugh at people.
The point is with the offense & defense the Pats will roll out on the field this coming season, he doesn't need to break any TD or yardage records. The balance continues and will continue to annoy our Phins troll and any others that happen by this board. And that's the only reason they post, because the prospect of the team the Pats now have scares the crop out of them!
If we didn't have a competitive team, they'd be off on a Colts or Chargers message board. It's really flattering to have them stop by, because there's only one reason they're here.
Are you insinuating that I am a troll?
Ha! Don't flatter yourself. The troll knows who it is.
Don't we look foolish now gents?...Especially our favorite punching bag, Aqua
Well let's wait a bit. One gent did mention that Manning tossed 49 TD's and had no Lombardi to show for it. If Brady tosses 60 and the Patriots don't win it all then that would be a complete waste.
This is a good resurrection of a thread. I'm surprised someone called this way back in march. Kudos.
(And yeah-- Aqua looks REALLY bad in retrospect hahahaha)
oh man What a season
Tom gets to at least 31 tomorrow.
More like 35 when all is said and done sunday night
I have to say, i expect 5 tomorrow.
You mean today - 5 tomorrow would be by Boller or Roethlisberger
This is a great time to revive the thread. Looks like everyone may be rethinking their words now. I love how someone said he wasnt going to toss 6 td's against Detroit. Nope just against another team.
But it still is still fairly early and anything can happen. I would rather Brady hit 48 and win a SB then hit 50 and fail to get the Lombardi.
individual records are never as impressive or important as the superbowl
49 TD's not possible without Moss, and this thread was asking if Tom could throw 49 with Stallworth and Welker, Moss puts a whole new spin on it, and he was added a month after this thread started.
still, there was a poster saying brady wasnt talented enough for the task...that guy defenetely ate his words...
