Re: Tom Half Limp After Press Conference

I am as I stated. Brady seemed a little goofy to me after the game. If you have ever had to take large doses of narcotic painkillers, you would know that you do get a bit loopy as a side effect. I have seen these effects before and noticed them in Tommy after the game. It was subtle but apparent to me, at least. Let's just hope he's functioning well for the SB. I am a total TB homer so I wish the guy nothing but the best. I personally think TB will go down as the greatest QB in the history of the NFL before all is said and done. :rocker:

Re: Brady's Foot - what 2+2 = for me

I really don't see the problem with theorizing what it might be. I don't necessarily agree with this theory, but it's something I definately hadn't thought of. And I don't really regard it as gossip either. When I come to discuss things on a fansite I like to hear other peoples theories as they make me think. It's not going to have an impact on what goes on in this game, so I don't really see what the problem is here. I think you guys are being a little too board-nazi in jumping all over him for posting this idea. Personally, I thought Brady's entire demeanor seemed lethargic and strange throughout that game, and I posted that in the gamethread.

Someone else posted that they thought they say him limp during the press conference. Now I may go back and look at it, because i didn't see the press conference before. He's the QB of our team and they're going to the Superbowl. BB also happens to be very secretive with these sorts of things so we will have no idea. But we are free as fans to assimilate little pieces of evidence, formulate a theory based on them and then discuss. It's really not gossip and I am going to continue to do because there's no harm in it. It's no different than speculating on Belichick's gameplans or a certain players reduced playing time. We aren't in the organization so much of what we say is speculation. In fact I think it's worse that many hear (myself included) are automatically jumping to Randy Moss' side and denouncing Rachelle Washington when none of us were invoolved or present. That's speculation.

Re: Brady's Foot - what 2+2 = for me

I'm still waiting for one GOOD reason to pay attention to your opinion ever again, you're quite possibly the least informed and least tolerant poster I've ever seen on this or any forum. Not to mention the FACT that your penchant for overreacting makes your posts the written equivalent of a toddler's shrill temper tantrum.

Speculation on Brady's injury hurts what, exactly, other than your delicate sensibilities?

So we have 500 posts on panicking about Brady's injury and I'm the one overreacting?

Idle speculation reflects panic & worry which are both childish & insecure. What did you say about toddlers?

Re: Does Brady's injury change your mind about the extra week off?

I like the bye week. It means that both teams are as close to full strength as is possible. I don't think the SB champ should be decided on rest or injuries.

I agree.

What's more, I don't want them to have a huge reason to avoid all the hype. Let them spend some energy on all the media stuff, and even on enjoying the whole hoopla? Why not?

Re: Does Brady's injury change your mind about the extra week off?

:( Yes, we will lose. :(

Wildo, well thought out and expressed post. But here's the bottom line; Belichik and the Patriots are not going to allow Pats fans to know the extent of Brady's injury. Now some Pats fans may think that's not fair, but I love it. I wouldn't have it any other way.

So we can want to know the extent of the injury, but it's not gonna happen. we need to accept that.

Re: Brady's Foot - what 2+2 = for me

You make a valid point here. but at the same time, this story would not have spread the way it did without the internet. It's a catch-22. I'd love for one person to give me one good solid reason why anyone should speculate on the Brady story. Explain what good it can do.

Well, the first question that needs to be asked is why anybody else should care just how you think the Pats should be discussed here.

Seriously -- the OP wasn't spamming or trolling, he wasn't claiming to know anything that he didn't, or spreading any information without also informing how reliable it is or isn't.

If he doesn't want to sit around coming up with different ways to say he's not worried about it to make himself feel better like some other posters, there's no reason for him not to talk about what he feels may be the case.

What harm can it do? Will it make Brady's foot heal slower? Will it some how "embolden" the Giants, spurring them on to a better weak of practice? Of course not. It's just message board chat.

What good can it do? Well, it can help pass the time while we wait for more solid information to come out. It's something to talk about during what's going to be an interminable two weeks' wait until we get to watch our team try to make history.

But in the end, who cares what good it can or can't do, because the answer to the original question is that there is no reason why the OP should have to answer to, or care about, your feelings about what should or shouldn't be discussed about Brady's foot.

Heaven forbid people actually discuss something that has merit and a bearing on the next game. I'm glad we have you here to defend us from discussion of a hot topic. Let's all get back to making up bad jokes about Peyton Manning commercials or why Tony Dungy is a hypocrite and the rest of the crap that passes for discussion here.

Idle speculation reflects panic & worry

I'm sure that sounded good in your head but too bad it isn't even close to accurate. Idle speculation has as much to do with boredom and the search for answers as it does anything else. Keep working on your zingers and someday I'm sure you'll really put someone in their place, though.

I wish you'd pitch fits in some of the real crap threads then you'd actually be helping.

And that's why this is America Pat! We all get to share our thoughts and opinions! No one is more right or wrong in their expression...even you!

I thought that this is America because the football players we're talking about are allowed to use their hands.

right, it is good that he won't until maybe after the Superbowl when Brady perhaps let it all out of the bag. But we wouldn't have known anything was wrong at all until this video of him in a cast was taken, so we are actually finding out little tidbits of new information here and there. Perhaps there's a doctor on the board who can narrow down the possibilites or some new photo comes to light later in the week of him jogging without the cast on.Wouldn't you like an update on that? I would. I appreciate that there are those that are less worrisome than other on here, because I'm fairly worrisome and tend to be put at ease by some of the more level-headed posters here, but I'd much rather threads that speculate harmlessly on something that directly pertains to the team we care about than a bunch of "Rachelle Washington is a goldigger" threads. I understand where your coming from in poking some holes in the OP's theory or just disagreeing with it, but these threads aren't going to go away and I don't necessarily think there's any harm in that.

fnordcircle, here is a truth that is not open for debate;

There are no contests in life. No one can be any better or worse than another. So if you wish to compete with any member of Patsfans, that's on you and you're wasting your time.

I don't throw zingers or try to out-do anyone else, only an idiot would do such a thing...wouldn't you agree?

Re: Just saw a picture of Brady in N.Y with a cast boot on his foot.

If he wanted to avoid the media, he darn well could have. You don't see Peyton Manning constantly being photographed by paparazzi. For a guy who allegedly always puts team first, it was a questionable move, I don't think that's arguable.

Are you serious? No one gives a f*ck what Peyton Manning does in his spare time, he's a married man with a non-celeb wife living in a boring city, it's not because he's somehow so much the team player that he deftly avoids any publicity. I mean, we know he loves publicity, it's just that no one cares about his life outside football.

I understand you're trying to take shots at Brady as a bitter Colts fan whose team flamed out in the playoffs, but you could try to make it a little less obvious when you make statements like "You don't see Peyton being photographed by paparazzi!" You look ridiculous and a little stupid.

I never read you as a worrier Wildo. I know Brady's injury should spur much discussion. I just don't think it should all focus on what his injury is. There was a person who claimed they were a "medical professional" who made the outright statement that Brady's injury was serious. To me, that was the most irresponsible post I've ever read. So I think we'd be better off discussing other things than what might be wrong.

I think the gossip around Moss has left a lingering negative feeling regarding these posts.

But I will step back and re-evaluate my attitude Wildo. I can be humble enough to at least do that.

Re: Just saw a picture of Brady in N.Y with a cast boot on his foot.

Then your premise is that it's a GOOD thing he's created a stir that could have been avoided? And don't give me the bullcrap that the Patriots want distractions, lol, I'm sure Bill Belichick is just absolutely thrilled the Giants now can target his right foot in any hits or sacks Brady takes in the Super Bowl.

What's it to you? We're not like you. We'd rather have a QB heading to the Superbowl wearing a protective boot in public than one who films pep talk commercials poking fun at the season being over (though ours isn't...) or engaging in bizarro oreo licking contests with a sibling under their mommy and daddy's watchful eyes to make a few more bucks for the family business...not to mention a HC who has to go on an annual prayer retreats to decide (and hold press conferences to announce) whether or not he still even wants to coach your team...

Go home Colts troll.

touche Pat...very witty!;)

You got me!

Re: Brady's Foot - what 2+2 = for me

So we can want to know the extent of the injury, but it's not gonna happen. we need to accept that.

The team knows (and grudgingly accepts) that fan speculation is a byproduct of the information embargo. If it gets too extreme ("Brady and Igor Olshansky were engaged in some pregame consensual horseplay") they will provide more information to calm things down.

As fans we of course want to know about our team. If you walk into work tomorrow and tell a friend "Brady has his foot in a cast", the first question will be "when and how did he hurt it?"

But since we don't know we can only speculate.

Re: Just saw a picture of Brady in N.Y with a cast boot on his foot.

i got this quote of one of the sites with the picture...“There are always kind of bumps and bruises,” the Patriots QB said Monday. “I’ll be ready for the Super Bowl. I’m not missing this one. I’d have to be on a stretcher to miss this one. There will just be some treatment this week and like I said, games like this you get a little nicked up but it’s nothing serious.”

-its prob. somethin real minor but he wants to make sure hes 100% for the superbowl so hes wearing the boot
