when its official that's all. until then it isn't done. i don't care what he puts on his account. when i see something on the official pats site then ill believe it.The guy posted a picture of the Patriots uniform on his Twitter account. How much more confirmation do you need?
Fine, then dump Branch and his salary then, but right now we currently have way too much precious cap space devoted to two 30-something 2-down only players.Wait, but don't you think Alan Branch is trash?
Fairley at $3M and as Easily's replacement is a much, Much, MUCH better value than Pot Roast asWho do people prefer, Potroast or Fairley?

Fairley, or our FO?Fairley just seems like a poor decision-maker.
Fairley at $3M and as Easily's replacement is a much, Much, MUCH better value than Pot Roast as
Branch's backup at $4.5M, and it's not even close, at all.
He was on a one-year-prove-it deal last season, and proved…not much....He's now on a 1 year prove-it-to-the-league deal...

Now's the perfect time to dig up that thread claiming that they were up against the cap and couldn't really make any moves (gentle chiding only, please).

Never forget: Scott Chandler.
"Patriot killers" tend not to do well once they actually come play for us.
Revis is the only exception that comes to mind at the moment.
can he?Branch is only going to be $2.75m against the cap.
Per reports, Pot Roast will be, at most, $4.5m against the cap.
Combined, you're looking at, at most, $7.25m against the cap.
To say that such is "way too much precious cap space devoted to two 30-something 2-down only players" is just a bad troll job, Captain. You can do better than that.
I thought that there was an agreement here not to use facts to support arguments (even presuming that none of the $4.5M is incentive).Knighton fills the hole left by Siliga and Hicks departing. Akiem Hicks signed for $4.5 million in 2016 with the Bears. Pot Roast's cap number is right in line with his talent and his experience.
Belichick has had one of the best offseason he's had in his entire tenure with New England.
I think it's safe to say he's "all in" this year, especially with all the one-year deals with prominent players.
Losing the conference championship 3 of the past 4 years can't sit well with anyone, and if you go back a little deeper you'd find the 2011 heartbreaking SB loss, the 2010 HFA loss to the Jets (of all teams), the 2009 shellacking at home to the Ravens, the 2008 season where they didn't even go to the playoffs, the 2007 ruined perfect season, and the 2006 AFCCG where we snatched defeat from the jaws of victory and blew a 21-3 lead.
In other words, there are plenty of reasons for Belichick, Kraft, and Brady to see things through a bit of a different lens than most of us, and it's great to see him going "all in," while still keeping to his value system.
