I think we don't realize it because its still ongoing but the Brady/BB run is just ridiculous.
In 14 years with Brady at QB, the Patriots have made it to the final 4 10 times.
They are looking to be final 2 for the 7th time and Champions for the 5th.
I don't think anyone has ever come close to that level of success.

It really is an unheard level of domination. I think it ranks up there, if not ahead, of the Habs level of domination in the mid 70s.

Felger did a comparison of the Niners with Montana, and then Montana and Young playoff, NFCCG and Superbowls.. They 49ers came pretty close, but if the Pats get to and win #7, the Pats will be had and shoulders above everyone.

Yeah, I don't think it can be called unmatched since another team did just as well and won more SB titles in the same time frame. As a dynasty we'd really need to win 6 for it to be 'unmatched'. Winning 5 technically just matches what SF did.

From an individual perspective Brady and Belichick obviously surpassed what anyone have done on an individual level, but as a team you can't say we've surpassed SF.

I agree, but if we win this year, no one can say that this dynasty isn't in the discussion for the greatest dynasty ever. That will be so gratifying for decades to come. Brady will also have an edge over Montana for the greatest QB ever and Belichick will match Lombardi for most NFL titles.

San Fran had about the same level of success. 10 NFCCG and 5 SB titles in 15 yrs. 16 playoffs in 17 years.

Seems like the two dynasties are very much on par.
2 coaches and 2 QBs.

He already has an edge over Montana. SBs are equal and every other factor favors Brady.
#5 just makes it not even a discussion.

The numbers are just about Equal when you compare the Niner and Pats' dynasties. However the conditions under which they competed were very different. I have always believed that one of the big pluses for Brady in the Brady/Montana discussion, was that Montana essentially had all his vast success with essentially the SAME roster, while Brady has taken essentially 3 different teams to his 6 superbowls. Now THAT is an accomplishment that is unparalleled...at least in my humble opinion

To misquote Yogi Berra and mangle one of his sayings,

"I regret the Pats' dominance that made DefameGate necessary".

I was trying to think...10 visit...6 wins...who were our 4 losses?

-2006 Indy
-2012 Broncos
-2013 Ravens
Who am I forgetting???

there's a debate because Brady is still playing so people scrutinize every play Brady makes or doesn't. No one remembers the bad plays Montana made. Give it 5-10 years after Brady retires and it will swing decisively Brady's way. It's just the way human psychology and perception is.

Ravens twice?

My fault...we have only lost 3 AFCCG. This is our 10th and we will hopefully win it.
We have only lost to the Ravens ONCE in the AFCCG...the other was a divisional loss.

The SF run was longer by 5 or 6 years, but the Pats run is still going
